Elite is 23 Days away
I just thought when the elite comes out isnt that going to absoloutly smoke the ps3? Comes with hdmi, comes with component, xbox gold membership for 1 month, 120g of space, free headset and YOU CAN PLAY MUSIC WHILST YOU PLAY (unlike ps3) well you can do that on normal 360 but its still good we have to wait for the 2.0 firmware  But thats a good package wonder how much it is?

yeah and it will probably cost near enough same as the ps3. the difference being the ps3 has a bluray player built in. the elite will not have this. for £40-£50 u can get a 120 GB harddrive and install it yourself...simple

Yeah, comes with no wi-fi or built in hd drive so basically the only advantage you're getting over the 360 is a shitty cheap matte black finish, bigger hdd and HDMI. Excuse me if I don't really get too excited about it since there's nothing there to get excited about. It also have high failure rates, just like the old 360. Check youtube for the evidence.
Also as ricky says you could get a bigger hdd for ps3 and fit it yourself since it takes any 2.5 inch laptop drive. Easy peasy. When will people learn that the Elite is still a glorified Xbox 360 and therefore is complete toss!!
P.S. Is being listen to your own music in games such a big deal? I know for the majority of games I'd rather listen to the in-game music anyway. That's why developers get some of the world's best musicians and audio experts to do their music, not so we can turn it off only to listen to our own shit.

In fairness from what I gather from my time as an Official PlayStation Forum member they're exactly the same. Better off sticking to the smaller sites such as this one, at least here freedom of speech does still exist. |

i would have expected ms to have ironed out most of the problems with the elite long before launch, i'd be suprised if we see the same rates of failure as we did we the standard 360, but at the end of the day i think its all the luck of the draw, most people i know have had a perfectly running 360 since launch, just lucky i guess,

A-****ing-men. I love my 360 but M$ can get ****ed if they think I'm going to buy a new one just for HDMI. Personally I wouldn't include wi-fi in the PS3 as an advatnage because some people (the fools who went for 20GB) don't have it and it's a really shitty adapter anyway. I'm not kidding here, the one in the Wii is way better. |

It's crazy. £180 for a Wii and £425 for a PS3 yet the Wii has a better Wi-fi adapter. With that said, the one in the Wii is so good it probably accounts for 50% of the Wii's cost :p |

Well obviously I don't have a Wii to compare it to but my PS3's Wi-fi is absolutely sound. I'm happy with speed and not once have I had a dropout when playing games online.
