Favorite Console
I saw that Console Wars had a thread about favorite consoles. What is your favorite console? Give a short explanation as to why...
My favorite is the Dreamcast. Two words...Power Stone...simply my most favorite fighting game EVER. I hate to copy what everyone else has said about the Dreamcast, but it was ahead of it's time. Gamers weren't ready for the graphics the DC could put out. I belive if they had waited 2 or 3 more years, when high definition was slightly more common than it was in 99, the DC would have done better.

Well it seems to me the choices are clearly consoles from the past. Well besides the PlayStation 3, I would have to say my favorite console while I was a child was perhaps the PlayStation. I enjoyed DreamCast but I did not have many games I liked. The Nintendo 64 held my attention for quite some time with the games Mace: The Dark Age and the Pokemon titles (Stadium/Snap). Then I purchase the PlayStation. It was my favorite because it had possibly my favorite game at the time: Metal Gear Solid. It also had the Final Fantasy titles as well. Last but not least it offered simple fun with a game known as Jet Moto. The PlayStation lives on through the better and best console to date - The PlayStation 3 Computer Entertainment System. My Final Answer - PlayStation 3 (w/ emotion engine)

Fave console ever...It's a toss up between the SNES and N64. I think the N64 just pips it to the post because of Goldeneye. That game was just amazing and is still a really good play even by today's standards. I wasted many an hour with 3 other mates in the 4 way split screen mode. Fantastic.
The SNES does hold a special place in my heart because it was the first games console I ever owned and it kick started my gaming addiction.
Fave current console is the PS3. Imo the 360 doesn't even come close.

It was good but it wasn't as ground breaking as Goldeneye. The number of hours I pumped into Goldeneye is disturbing and only rivaled by the hours I pumped into Counter Strike: Source and World of Warcraft.

My first console, the Mega Drive rates rather highly. Completing Sonic 2 was a blast, did it on a regular basis
Streets of Rage was brilliant too and I have to say Super Street Fighter 2 was one of the best console versions IMO. Also loved Road Rash, Toe Jam and Earl, Earthworm Jim and of course all the stuff on the Mega CD I picked up a year or 2 back
In terms of shear hours, my PS2 probably ranks the highest still. GTA, GT, the Burnout franchise, Red Faction, Killzone and Half Life all got a serious look in. Still do in fact
