has anyone seen gameplay videos of ssmb? it is looking frighteningly similar to meelee in the graphics department. i personally think so far that the wii capped out with graphical potential already. i think its sad that true nintendo fans are left to hundreds of casual games and sloppy ports and they cant have the prowess of nex gen graphics. just how angry you would be if u popped god of war 3 into ur ps3 and it looked like god of war 2. not acceptable in my mind

i have to agree with you mate a console with no potential is pointless especially in the graphics department thats why i've stuck with sony all these years. they've built a groundbreaking amazing console, not a bargin basement system with a faddy, annoying controller

i have to disagree with you guys while graphics are cool it all comes down to the gameplay, nintendo got the short end of the stick because they have very few good games.
taking you exanpol of god of war 3 if it came out with ps2 graphics on the ps3 people would still buy and love it as long as it still has a killer story and great gameplay. btw the only reason i don't have a wii is because i don't care for the controler and yes i have played many games on it.

the problem is the wii never went in to the market trying to have good graphics. they went in for family entertainment and they have done that suppurbly well

true but there still lacking good games at the moment.

thats the thing everyone talks about wii having the "gameplay" while ps3 and 360 have the "graphics" but as a hardcore gamer i have seen maybe 2 or 3 games on the wii i would like to own, im just not into sloppy ports and casual games at all. i guess i just look forward to see better games graphically each year on the ps3, (ex. resistance to uncharted and eventually to killzone 2) but i think twighlight princess was probably the best looking wii title (i still think it is up to scale with galaxy). and yes i would whole heartedly buy god of war 3 if it had ps2 graphics, i would buy it if the whole thing was just the threesome minigame ;) but i feel for the industry to progress we need to have better gameplay and/or graphics in our games every year. maybe its just a case of me expecting to see ps3 graphics progress on the wii, its just that as soon as ive seen more of brawl it looks more like a gamecube game PERSONALLY. ps. i know the game will rock and i will mootch at my friends house as soon as it comes out

I've got a Wii and PS3, think they both lack in having loads of quality games. I find the games for the wii that are good offer something very unique that is beyond the ps3's capabilities due to the control system. Games go way beyond the graphics, take Tetris for example, many old classics are making a return because they are fun without needing HD graphics. At least if your a graphics whore you'll be happy to buy any crap PS3 games which makes developers happy because they don't need to put much effort into making quality games.

PS3 games are suffering more so from 360 ports because developers are easy/cheap route. Hopefully this d should change now hardware sales have improved and Sony are offering better support to developers.

SSBB is gonna be awesome, I 've waiting for it since they first announced it. oh, and: Gameplay (gameplay over graphics)

there no doubt ssbb will we good its just it looks like an enhanced port of melee imo, doesnt mean its bad. But i am glad i bought a ps3 because they are offering different things like an impressive online service for their first try and breathtaking visuals. the jump in technology is awesome.

...the jump in tech from PS2 to PS3 is amazing,it's online will forever be free and will continue to get bigger and better,and on a graphical level,games like Crysis and Final Fantasy XIII show just how powerful the PS3 can be.The Wii is a good machine,but it's selling point is in blinding consumers to the truth,which is that after you look past it's admittedly brilliant control scheme the Wii is a very dull console in comparison to it's competitors,with a lot of it's games being quite weak with the system's hardware,there's only about 50-75 games on the Wii that work well enough on it,out of a catalogue of nearly 300 too.PS3 has a sizeable catalogue itself now,and a majority of it's games are playable.

Crysis is still officially PC exclusive buddy.

...however, I heard that Crytek have developed a PS3 games engine and that Crysis may be coming to the PS3 within the year, I still however, apologise for my use of the game in my previous comment, I had posted that comment a few days ago and did so whilst reading through an old PSM3 magazine, they listed Crysis as one of the top 50 games to look out for on PS3 this year.

(It may have been PSW3,but I'm not completely sure, since then said magazine has found a home in a box in my attic, so I can't be bothered to check on that. Pretty sure it was a list of 50 games though). But I believe there is no doubt in what I said of Final Fantasy XIII though right? Which will have the gameplay and the graphics and the lifespan, it could very well be the most deserved game of the year, if it has a 2008 launch, I hope so.

Quit ripping on the wii. I have both a PS3 and a Wii and I play them both the same amount. I have a 52" full hd 1080p lcd tv so graphics are easily compared. I still love the wii just as much as my ps3 because games are meant for gameplay not graphics alone.
