PS3 Online and X-Box Live
Does anyone think or here any news about like maybe linking the two so if you have the same games as PS3 and X-Box that you will be able to play online together....if you know anything please post a reply or whatever thanks....

No there is nothing out there at the moment for this to happen. Yes there is a chance for it in the future but it will be a while away. And i guess both companys would have to join forces for it to happen. There was rumours of PC gamers playing PS3 or 360 gamers i think on Unreal tournament.

I think in Shadow Run for the 360 and PC, they could play together. Not 100% sure about that one though. :/

There are several games on Xbox Live and "Games for Windows Live" where PC gamers and Xbox gamers can play together.

I don't see Sony and Microsoft ever joining together and it's probably better that they don't, it would hurt competition and whatever they came up with would be all there is and no more choices for consumers.

Both the PSN and XBL have their strengths and weaknesses, I don't think a "one size fits all" system would ever work. You'd get into more than just unifying networks, but also unifying everything into one console system, which would be bad.

And i guess if both console joined together it would be more of a bad thing then good. When to companys have a rival then they try there best to bring out great products to try and beat each other. But if ts only one company out there then you will slowly see the quality drop.

With xbox live you can message, view friends online status what game they are in and all achiements thru xbox.com . Does sony offer something similar? Sorry- PS3 Noob here.

It isn't totally like the Xbox.com make a gamer tag and just login via Windows Live e-mail but it is close. Though you need to link your PSN ID to your Playstation underground name.

i dont see why this is so hard.....dont the online games use dedicated servers online? so why would it matter wich console you was on. im sure it just has something to do with the games sites giving permission to your machine.

Wow some one didn't take there medicine. Where is a moderator or an Admin when you need to clean out the brat little kids that have to much time on there hands.

Back on topic. Well really it would be nice if they both combined into one. I could see this possibly making Nintendo actully try harder well possibly. I mean the Wii is great but its lack of almost everything needed to play online is horrible. About the best Wii online game feature wise is MarioKart Wii for the friend request option and it's friends status deal.

Now if it were to come to be one it also would be great because a few of these titles may even become PC games. Then we would have more PC games that would link to the consoles as well.

ive noticed that the PS3 works more like a PC than a console. demo's i download off the PSstore have to be installed even after a 1Gig download and every game has to have an install of some sort. I think it would be easier to intergrate online play with PCs than it would with the 360/wii.
