360 owners think about this

okay yeAh the 360 is like 399 (the high standard model) bucks 200 less what the ps3 is but think about this you pay 50 bucks a yr for xbl psn cost nil okay still alot cheaper than you say hey my friends blu ray is pretty cool i want something similar for my 360 so what next you spend 200 bucks for a add on just so hmm your xbox can play hd movies like your friends ps3 hmm so okay to get the xbox on par media wise with your friends ps3...BUT WAIT thats not all...you also would love to have that wireless connection just like your friends 60 gb ps3 so what do you do SPEND YET ANOTHER 100 bucks on the wi fi so you can do the same thing as your friends ps3. SO okay lemme get this right to do the same thing as a ps3 on an 360 i have to spend a hmmmmm 50 bucks a yr for internet..200 bucks for a hd dvd add on and 100 bucks for a wi fi internet thats a wait for it (drumroll) 750 bucks AND COUNTING dun dun dunnnnnn and you still have 40 gb less in storage space, and im not finished yet, since halo is the greatest game EVER CREATED IN THE HISTORY OF MAN KIND (cause ofcourse everyone just LOVES fps shooters) microsoft said hey fanboys will want a LEGENDARY EDITION so what will we do I KNOW make a 100 buck game of halo EVEN THO that this game will prolly be 12-15 hrs long AT BEST thanx to the limited double layer dvd (knowing that since everyone THINKS this is the last halo game suckers will buy something to remember this great franchise buy) so thats 850 BUCKS n all for a system FULLY FEATURED and its ALLEGED best game, and oh did i add you have to buy ur own hd tv connector just like the ps3 (yeah sony are so evil arent they for for an extra 40 bucks) so thats 850, okay ull say hey yall havent got games for the SO EXPENSIVE ps3 okay so lemme think for that 100 bucks your gonna buy the "BEST GAME EVER" for we could buy our equivalent killzone ALRIGHT halo 3 will probably be better but thanx to blu ray this game will not only have the similar visual and gameplay s to halo 3 but also be twice as long!!!!!!!!! and oh as well you have another 50 bucks to spend on game so hmm lemme choose GTA 4 for MGS 4 but wait what if i dont wanna shot ppl ina game WELL than you have FF13 AND Gran Turismo 5 or maybe DEVIL MAY CRY 4 or Maybe God Of War 3 ( cause lets be honest it WILL happen)...and btw thats what i think phil harrison meant by killer catalogue because as great as GOW is and HALO 3 will be, not everyone feels like like shooting ppl or killing gory monsters all the time MICROSOFT FEELS they do somehow, because other than those two what exclusives do microsoft really have.....esp ones that offer something other than shooting ppl.... yes the 360 is a great system but microsoft has treated it like a car? they dress it up with the basics BUT HOLD ON wheres the ac the radio the ANTI LOCK brakes lol while the ps3 although at first seeming more expensive has all these included
just remember its not 399 vs 599 its 750+ vs 599 cheaper I THINK NOT

You definitely get much more for your money with the PS3. The only trade off is that Blu-ray is not an option on the PS3.

Sorry to say this but xbox360 games are not limited to 1 disc only. Take Blue Dragon for an instance - you get 4 DVDs when you buy it. Would have been easier if they made the games on an HD-DVD. On the other hand I like the freedom to choose whether to include the HD-DVD player for an extra 100£.
I would never have bought the xbox360 last year if it included HD-DVD player because the war between BR and HD-DVD had not yet found its winner. Why would I want a player that might turn out to be the next betamax, mini-disc or even UMD (Sony?).
And for the record a PS3 will cost no less than 500£ when it hits the market in two weeks. The xbox360 will all the addons you mentioned costs 450£ and then you even get Gears of War in that package.

Wrong!!!
Bro who are you trying to lie to i live in the uk and i know PS3 is launching at 425 not 500 pounds like you are suggesting lemme just embarrass you first off a 20 gb 360 in the uk cost 279.99 the hd dvd add on cost 139.99 and than wifi cost 59.99 what does this all add up to? 479.97 or lets just say 480 pounds NOT INCLUDING xbox live which cost 30 pounds a year so thats 510 pounds PLUS!!!! looks like you were WRONG and guess what ur 360 sorry my friend still has less than HALF the storage of a PS3... 4 discs dayum that doesnt sound very next gen to me i swear thats what i had to do with my first PLAYSTATION (PS1 i mean).. talking about next gen battle of media players i swear didnt blu ray just surpass hd dvd in sales (even though hd dvd was out like 5 months earlier OUCH) and as well isnt Blu Ray supported by more than TWICE the Hollywood Studios than HD DVD...but ofcourse since Sony made betamax in the past this is destined to be that....

Never said anything about where I bought my xbox360, did I? I am from Denmark, but if I wrote the price in the Danish currency you would not understand the price difference. HD-DVD player is £100 and another £15 if you want King Kong included. Live is £35 a year. A xbox360 premium model is £250 and the wireless network adapter you refered to is somewhat near £50. That comes to a total of £435 (£450 with King Kong).
I might not know that much about the media war, but at least the porn industry went with HD-DVD due to cheap production costs. Where do you get the figures that says BlueRay sold more than HD-DVD on world basis?
Sure I will admit that the multi disc option is not optimal, but at this point only one game have had to come on several discs. They solved this by adding DLC just like Sony is doing now.
Microsoft is releasing a new HDD sometime in Q2 or Q3 this year. Rumors has it that it will be somewhere between 150 and 250 GB. Price is still unknown.

I prefer the ability to buy pieces of my 360 when I want and spread the cost over a longer period of time. I would rather not have the whopping great £425 taken from my account for something that is basically a PC that I can't choose to upgrade. I like that I get to decide WHEN I have hd-dvd...WHEN I can use xbl and WHEN to buy my HDD. Yeah I bought a core because I got it super cheap and then got the hard drive. I don't have an HD-TV because I'm a student without much money so it would suck if I was forced to have a HD-DVD player. It would mean I wasted my money on something I can't use. Also, seeing as I don't need to install games, and saved games only take up a few kilobytes (thats KB), 20GB is enough. It lets me save my game, save my music and thats all its really needed for.
Hard media will always be more popular than downloaded media.

On the other hand lazy people like me can't be bothered buying and connecting up loads of extra things that the PS3 gives you already built in. Therefore Xbox 360 doesn't represent value for money. All the added extras would come to more than a PS3. See what I'm saying?

Im really tired of 360 represntitives
The 360 ceos are putting the ps3 down sooooo much. home is a great and oringinal idea and yet it has to be dissected because OH NO sony made a good idea for online play!! call the 360 reps to pound the good news back into the dirt.Im tired of this shit every time ps3 gets a sweet game out. Ps3 will get good games if developers realize there is more power on the ps3 and they just have to work harder for it. Plus the online is free and large (40 players online) with new content coming every day. I always feel relectant for buying a ps3 but then i realize that its getting better with every day. 360 came out a whole year earlier and now developers want money so they go for the bigger install base. Ps3 is great and getting greater and xbox ceos are really being dickwads

I own a 360 and in two weeks will own a P$3, each machine has things over the other. Im gonna be lucky enough to have the best that both camps have to offer, so if I slag one system off for any reason, I can, as I will be making a fair comment due to forking out cash I worked overtime for. $ony are just as bad as Micro$oft, BUT....$ony know they have not got the anywhere near the grip they had 3yrs ago. Im made up that Nintendo have made it very much a 3 way split. With the competion so strong now, developers will keep pushing things, and that can only be a good thing for us gamers........can't it?? I think so.....

I have thought so myself. I will be getting a PS3 as well to go with my xbox360. They both have their pros and with the competition both companies will be pushing prices on software as well as hardware to pursue the most costumers. I gladly welcome both consoles!

I understand but I would rather pay in parts. Its the same as buying a house when you don't have enough money. There is a house you really like and two mortgage companies. One wants the money back in small but regular amounts, the other wants it all in one go. I pick small but regular amounts.

Alright, I'm gonna do my best to reply to do this, though there are parts that I can't understand because of the horrible grammar/spelling.

Alright, here's a question, does PSN have a system that allows you to keep track of everyone you have played with and anyone you like. Also, does it have background downloading, or achievements (those little things brighten my day).

There's also the fact that microsoft has not chained itself to a certain technology that may or may not fail. You effectively have a betamax player that plays subpar games (except maybe Resistance and Little Big World)

Alright so the wi fi thing is pretty unnecessary. You are more likely to have a wired than a wireless connection. Besides, 360 gamers don't have to mess around with calibrating their controllers every time they start up the system. Sony made a boneheaded decision going with blue tooth, because while the technology is good for cell phones, it is simply not convenient enough for gaming. What the **** is anyone gonna do with that much space, it's simply inconvenient.

Nah, the Xbox isn't a one trick pony. I've got Crackdown, Viva Pinata, Oblivion,
Fight Night Round 3, N3, Call of Duty 2 (it was much better that CoD 3)

now you're just lying. It comes included inside the platinum release of the 360 along with a remote.

|
Besides the disappointment of how the killzone 2 trailer was pre-rendered, you are left with a game that sprouts from a game touted as a halo killer that sucked. Besides, the key thing to remember for the PS3 is that with 7 processors, it's gonna be a bitch to program on. It would trip over itself all of the time. Also, what is more important to remember is that not ALL games that come out for something with more memory will need that extra memory. Oblivion only takes up about half of the DVD it came on and that game is huge. Also, it is more about the software developers than the tech specs. Microsoft is good at making things that are easy to use for programmers. Sony, not so much.

GTA4 is going to the 360 on the same day, with exclusive downloadable content. It is going to be the same length on both systems, the graphics will look about the same, so the point is moot. Konami and Square are talking about making versions of their games for the xbox as well. Sure, I'll be sad not to play Devil May Cry 4, but I think I'll live (psst, you don't play as Dante). Also, Kratos dies in God of War 2.

Well shit, they only provided a choice in how much you actually need to play games. All of the things you talked about are optional. Not needed for gaming.
Also, on the subject of home. While I think it's sweet that Sony is stealing the gameplay of Second Life, the personality of Mii, and the Achievement system that I love so dear, it's just so unnecessary. Who do they think their core audience is? It's the Playstation ****ing three, the thing leaks testosterone onto the carpets. These features, especially the second life part are really designed for women. That's the principle demographic that plays second life. Sure I love my Mii, but It's sad to see him ripped off by a too-real person. The Mii has personality and art design, while the profiles of home simply look like avatars, symbols of what is sitting on the beanbag chair of their mothers basement in their boxers with cheeto cheese all over their shirts. I can't stand it.
I know that all of you are diehard playstation fans, and I know that this will grant 300 illegible responses, which is madness (No this is SPARTAAAAAAA!! ha ha i got it first). But I wanted to insert some logic and rational into at least this part of the forum. Also, Little Big World looks awesome. It is perhaps the only reason to own a PS3, and it's not out yet.
