Help for a PS3 noobie on LCD monitor

Hey guys,

The TV i have at home sucks balls and i can't afford a better one. Now i've decided to go for the cheaper option and that is to buy a 22" LCD monitor. I've set my eye on an ACER AL2216WD, it has a DVI-D with HDCP support. If i use a HDMI to DVI-D cable, will this work?

I've searched around to see if anyone knows which monitors are compatible but they all seem to come up with less than confident answers. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

That's alright, i've got a stereo system with optical input, so i'll get sound through that output instead.

Thanks for the reply, it certainly puts my mind at ease.

It will work for image in ps3 with an adapter (HDMI-to-DVI) but you won't have sound.
You might need to buy 5.1-7.1 e.t.c. system in order to handle sound.

I forgot to mention that for sound you need optical-in in your 5.1-7.1 e.t.c. system
