i bought a philips cineos tv (the black one with the black speaker covering and glass bottom) on my box it says 1080p compatible but wen i go into my display settings on my ps3 and tick 1080p for sum unkown f%^king reason it wont accept a 1080p output, wtf is going on?????

The software of tv supports FULL HD.
But the hardware no. It supports 1080i only.
But you are lucky anything less than 50'' + you are not going to see any difference between FULL HD-HD READY.
I believe you are not saying the truth if you had the tv you would at least knew the tv model. No way you gave 3000 euros and you dont know what your tv can do.

no thats in australian dollars. yer i watched casino royale and it was awesome to watch, so in other words the salesman tricked me into buying a1080p ready tv? whats the difference anyway?

i got a 32 inch samsung lcd 1080i which came with samsung surround sound system. its the dogs dingles

the sound on it however is not that good but its no prob cause i got the surround sound !!!

I'm looking into the Samsung M87 either 37" or 40".
It's got cracking right ups on the av forums with a lot of PS3 owner rating it highly.

Anyone got one or any comments?

If I was to go out and buy a new HD TV tomorrow it would be a samsung for the good contrat ratio's they offer at good prices... but I have not looked into it and Im sure there will be more to it than just ratios, It would be great if someone who really knew about HD TV's came along and said "right this TV is the one you want as its the best for playing games" but until then everyone who owns one will say theirs is the best wont they... unless your me of course who thinks the Hitachi 42" he owns is utter crap!

Go ''Home Theater Chat'', there is a thread named ''HDTV Guide'' download it and compare. I want to ask you how much money you are able to give???
Best brands: LG, PHILIPS-CINEOS, SAMSUNG, PANASONIC.
Don't buy FULL HD below 56'' doesn't worth it, its a huge mistake. In eye there is no deference between 1080i and 1080p. And belive me SONY is crap. You will see it tomorrow. In my opinion the best brands are PHILIPS-CINEOS and PANASONIC.
I read in a magazine that PHILIPS-CINEOS and PANASONIC are most capable for ps3. Buy for that what you see. If you want the best you are going to buy something expensive.
