Vizio 32" Hdtv
I am on my way to Sam's (ala CostCo) Wholesale and get a 32" Vizio HDTV. From what I have read, for the price, this is about all you need. Price = 699.00.
Can't wait.
O, I need an HDMI cable.....100.00!!!!

I have two Sony KDSXBR1 50 inch SXRD 1080p displays. Right now the PS3 is hooked up to the one in my bedroom. I am planning to use a HDMI signal amplifier to split the signal between the two, so I can play the PS3 in both my bedroom and the living room.

I had a Samsung flat screen TV before, but the image got distorted after a year and half of use. I also had a 47 inch Panasonic first generation HDTV, and that thing served me well for the past 3 years until I sold it recently. I read some of the reviews on the XBR1 and the SXRD/LCOS display technologies, and they all seem to be good. Can you elaborate why Sony TVs are bad?

I think the $60 cable is fine. I think the price difference comes from the amount of shielding used on the cable, at least that was the case for component cables. The shielding protects the cable from noise and interference, but in the case of digital signal, where the cable is only carrying 1's and 0's, there is very little chance of signal distortion caused by interference or noise. So unless if you are running a 50 feet HDMI setup, I think the quality of the cheaper cables will be comparable to their more expensive counterparts.

The more expencive HDMI's are longer lasting and more covering like Hondan said. Also they are better quality so picture is better then a cheap 10 $ cable which will be blurry (tested it with my 100 $ HDMI and a 10 $ one)

TV
I have an HD set but I'm not using it for HD viewing at the moment. I've seen videos of ps3 using HD on the net and it looks great.

TV Setup, HDMI and stuff...
So I've got an Aquos 26" lcd hdtv. I've heard some HDTV's won't work with the PS3 due to some kind of refresh rate issue or something. How Can I check if the PS3 will work with my SHARP AQUOS HDTV? The tv manual doesn't mention anything about the monitor refresh nor is it adjustable. Other than by spending $700 on the PS3 and another $100 for an overpriced copper wire? Sure would hate to spend all that and then return the "HD gaming system".
I do quote "HD gaming system" because it won't do this out of the box! I think I'll just wait. It's not like I can't afford it, just want to see if there's any bugs like the one I just mentioned and sure hate to have to return it and take store credit for $800, what else would I get?
Also what games from ps1 and ps2 are NOT playable on PS3? Anyone have a list yet?
I'm a die-hard ps1 and ps2 fanatic, but it looks like that's the end of the line for a few years, maybe by 09' the ps3 will be below 500 for the "HD" one. They aren't even using the potential of the machine yet. So by then they won't be recycled PS2 games that look a little better.
Sorry that's kinda long, hope you guys can help me with some of that.

i don't know all the facts like some guys on here but i heard that lcd screens are a lot slower on the refresh rate, so maybe not the best for the ps3, but like i said i don't really know for sure. but hondan knows his stuff, and if you make a new thread with your questions they will get answered a lot quicker

I have mine hooked up to a 27" Samsung Tube HDTV. Nice graphics, but I dont have a HDMI connection - mine is through the component cable connection. Even with that I'm pleased with the graphics, though I've seen demo TV's at the store that clearly smoke my graphics.
