What are the different ways to conect PS3, receiver & TV?
What are the best ways to connect your PS3 to surround sound and TV? Cables used and setup.. I have an HDMI cable, a 50" Samsung DLP, and a receiver that does not have an HDMI hookup.. Looking for all types of setups.. Thanks

Here's my current setup.

3x Optical cables
2x HDMI
1x Optical Switch

5.1 Surround Sound --> Optical Switch (Optical Cable)
5.1 Surround Sound --> TV (HDMI Cable)

PS3 --> Optical Switch (Optical Cable)
PS3 --> TV (HDMI)

Optical Switch --> Sky+ Box (OpticalCable)


Not saying it's the best, but it's working well.

Het apples!! read the thread, comprehend what your reading. The first thread i was having problems with my audio, this thread i'm just looking for different ideas on how people connect their systems. And yes you can hook up the audio cables and the hdmi at the same time because thats how mine is currently hooked up.
