Audio Problem with Setup
Hey guys,
I am having a little bit of trouble getting audio from my PS3 with my set up. I have a Sony Bravia 46" LCD- model KDL-46S4100, PS3, a Sony DVD Home Theatre System- model DAV-HDX275, and a DISH Satellite Receiver.
My setup:
PS3- HDMI to LCD
DISH- Video L/R to LCD ( getting HD DISH soon)
DVD Receiver- HDMI to LCD for video
5.1 speakers hooked to Receiver
Optical audio cable from LCD to Receiver for external speakers
I am trying to get audio from PS3 system out of SONY speaker system. The DVD receiver only has 1 optical audio cable IN. So i used my optical cable from my TV to the DVD receiver and set the receiver to TV/VIDEO. On this setting, anything playing at the TV should pretty much have sound coming through the external speaker. This works just fine for my DISH, but I get no audio from my PS3. I looked at my settings for my PS3 and set them to HDMI (the signal should be sent to the TV and that should be channeled to the Receiver) and yet, I still dont get any sound. Any ideas on what could be wrong with this setup? Sorry for the long read, but thanks.
