Square Enix Ltd. has today announced that Front Mission Evolved, developed by Double Helix Games, will be available for the PS3 in spring 2010. The first of its kind in the series, third-person shooter Front Mission Evolved is the next instalment in the Front Mission franchise, in which players get to control the Wanzer, a massive, humanoid, fully customizable war machine.
In the game, which features both single-player and online multiplayer campaigns, players find themselves smack bang in the middle of a cesspool of destruction, conspiracy and crumbling alliances, and must fight their way through intense combat situations in a bid to create the ultimate fighting machine in a war against terror.
The story is set in a much-changed future where countries have merged into massive geopolitical blocks. When a terrorist attack destroys one of the U.C.S’s prized orbital elevators, the military is mobilised to deal with the threat. You play the part of Dylan Ramsey, an engineer who gets himself caught up in the action, much to his distress, and our entertainment!
“We’re pleased to be releasing the next chapter in this classic franchise and invite existing fans and gamers new to the series to enjoy all the action that Front Mission Evolved has to offer,” said the aptly named Larry Sparks, vice president, brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd.
