Heralding the imminent release of the new Aliens vs. Predator PS3 FPS, Sega has today unveiled a nostalgic trailer which features the production team at Rebellion casting a dewy-eyed look back at the original 1999 game, which they also worked on. There’s also plenty of chat about the new game of course, and it has to be said, it’s looking pretty amazing!

Aliens vs. Predator is the first game in Sega’s forthcoming series of Aliens games licensed by Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. In the game, players can choose to take on the role of the three species: Colonial Marine, Predator and Alien. Each of the three species has its own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that intertwines with the campaigns of the other two species. You’ll also get the chance to pit the three species against each other in a unique three-way online multiplayer game in the ultimate battle for survival.

“Aliens vs. Predator is a powerful franchise for Fox and provides endless possibilities in the interactive space,” said Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President, New Media for Fox Licensing. “Sega and Rebellion have created an excellent gaming experience that will help this legacy live on.”

Aliens vs. Predator is due for release in February 2010 for PlayStation 3.
