Electronic Arts has today announced that it will be releasing the only official and exclusively licensed game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The game will feature all 199 national teams that took part in qualification, all 10 official stadiums that will be used in South Africa, and stadiums from each qualifying region. If you so wish, you’ll be able to play as your home nation from qualification all the way through to the FIFA World Cup Final. EA pledge to deliver all the excitement of the real tournament, with confetti, streamers, fireworks, and all manner of celebratory debris! Don’t fancy cleaning up after that lot!
Official FIFA World Cup South Africa marks the first time ever in a game that players will be able to participate in a full and authentic online World Cup tournament, competing against fans from rival countries right from the group stages, on through the knockout rounds, and hopefully into the final. If your country didn’t manage to qualify for the real FIFA World Cup, which starts in South Africa in June, now’s your chance to put that right and lead your national team to glory!
2010 FIFA World Cup will be available in North America on April 27th, and in stores throughout Asia and Europe from April 30th, 2010.
