First announced back in August 2007, Viking: Battle for Asgard  has finally had its official website launch. The official site features game information and visuals, as well as the epic new video featuring the Siege of Caldburg which just debuted on the site.

On the offchance you missed it Viking: The Battle for Asgard takes place in Midgard, the mortal realm to the mythical Asgard, the realm of Norse Gods and features Norse mythology as its staple. You will play a Viking warrior named Skarin as you battle against the goddess Hel—daughter of Loki (son of giants, contriver of all fraud). Apparently Hel is more than a little pissed she’s been banished from the heavenly kingdom of Asgard so she goes all vengeful and it’s your job to kick her into touch.

Once again it’s a male hero (not to harp on about it!), but on the up side Freya, goddess of love and wisdom is one of the allies in the game–she looks kind of like a dominatrix blond princess Leia lol. The trailer for this title looks really nice actually, so I’ve added it to my ‘think about it’ list and will take a look closer to release which should be on 28th March 2008, maybe you will too.
