UK (EU) PSN is now up and running!!

I've posted this news in the Online section of this forum but though it was worthy of another mention in a more general spot.

You can now register or use your already registered account to log-in to the EU PSN and add funds to your wallet with your UK/EU credit card...sweet stuff eh!

Anyone else visited the EU PSN with their import machines...or their italian ones (PS3 in Italy is already being sold!)

What? We have to pay $20 for Tekken 5 DR and we don't even have the RR7 decal set or any PS3 or game ads (I'm assuming they're commercials and not the trailers). I want my RR7 music downloads... and SCEA should toss in that Hot Shots Golf demo as well. <_<

Maybe it is Sony's way of saying 'sorry' because they made us wait so much longer!

I cant wait now...its's now midnight, which means...1 DAY TO GO!!

Btw what is "decal set"?

You guys are getting it with the PS3 launch. I think our wait is much longer than we just got DR this month, three months after the Japanese.

It's decorations for the cars. Like stickers and such.

Yeah, this seems to be a problem that a few people have been having, i've read the same on other forums and i also have the same trouble with Tekken which i downloaded this evening.
Some have been saying the problem is with SDTV's and that if you are using an imported ps3 you have to have a HDTV to play pal games. Some other people say that it's sony who have region locked some of the downloadable games, others say that maybe with the next update 1.6 things might be fixed and finally some say that it will work as of 23/03/07, when everything goes official... but as for me i really don't know what to think, all i can say is that i am going to shit a brick if i find out that sony are region locking dowloads.

Why would they region-lock Euro downloads when they've left the Japanese and US games and demos untouched? Shouldn't they be trying to lock JP and US games away from Europeans, rather than the other way around?

I found this interesting thread on another forum:

"I believe that it is a tv problem and nothing to do with firmware. From what i am lead to believe it does not like running on sdtv. If you download Gran Turismo HD (or Tekken 5) from the uk site it will not work on your hk/jap/usa ps3 either but downloading from the hk/usa/jap stores it works fine as these games are designed for ntsc output. In the uk they are designed for PAL output on sdtv. so hence the not compatable error. If you all buy hdtv's then there is no error as hidef is the same in every country and is not governed by the limitations of pal or NTSC. Hopefully i will have conclusive proof once everyone posts back there tv set up"
