Do you live in the PAL region, have an imported PS3 and a SDTV? If so, then that is your problem... PAL uses 576i as the standard SD output while US and Japan both use 480i. So in other words, the JP and NA PS3s do not support 576i, since we use 480i, thus a game downloaded from the PAL store may not play correctly in standard definition on an imported PS3. If this is your problem, then the only thing you can do is to get a HDTV...
