How do you put pictures on your ps3 from your flash drive?

Plug it into the PS3 via USB. Go to your XMB's photo section, press triangle to view all of your folders, now you can copy them onto your PS3's hard drive.

I thought that the new update was coming out tomorrow? (wait, it is the 23rd in U.S now, aint it!...is it?)

Anyhow, I read somewhere that updating the PS3 the wrong way could break the console...this true?

And, when I get my console tomorrow, will I be able to uodate to 1.6 straight away?

Does the PS 3 accept all Memory Sticks? Specifically, does it accept both the Memory Stick PRO and the MS PRO Duo? How about plain ole Memory sticks?

Where can I learn more about importing my photos (both digital and pre-digital). Is there a recommended scanner to use for the easiest and cleanest upload to the PS3? Why is such basic information so difficult to find?

louster, you can use USB flash drives with the ps3 (or external HDDs connected via USB, they will need to be in FAT format...)

the memory 'cards' themselves will be dependant on your ps3 actually having the slots to take the cards..

from memory (no pun intended) i think you can use MS PRO, PRO DUO, CF and SD in the slots..

charlie already said how to do a few posts up.. also this info would be documented in the ps3 manual, ive nver read it, but it will be there.

as for a scanner, you will need to use your scanner with your pc, then transfer the pics via the storage options discussed... (you wont be able to use a scanner directly with the ps3)

My PS3 rejected all 3 of my digital cameras, all 3 memory sticks & my pc & backup drive. I had to do 2 methods to upload to PS3. It also rejected JPEGs (rules said TIFF etc. only, but I converted to TIFF & that did not read either) (Japanese want you to buy their SONY cameras so everything else is incompatible). WHAT WORKED:
1. Download Picasa to your pc. Upload photos to Picasa on line. PS3 will sometimes recognize Picasa & allow downloads onto PS3. Sometimes it does not work. Go to upload from photo album & hope.
2. Download TVersity (Tversity.com) onto your pc. Import photo folders onto TVersity. Plug PC into PS3 & it will recognize TVersity folders (even JPEG - go figure). Then you have to manually copy each photo onto PS3 (Argh!) from the TVersity folder import. Next you have to do 4 steps to manually transfer each photo onto Playlist (use triangle) if you intend to share them on the PS3 network. Its painful, but a day later it will be done
