Sony is loosing money in a BIG way simply because Sony doesn’t have what Microsoft have with XBOX360 Sony Playstation 3 cost Sony at least $900 to produce it’s PS3. BLUE RAY DISC player is nothing but a very expensive next generation DVD player consumers are aware of this and they are not fooled easily by Sony. Sony is selling PS3 for $600 in USA in Europe 600 Euro ($800) in UK £425 ($835) and in Nordic countries such as Norway some shops are selling the PS3 for more than $1000. Consumers in Europe are thinking twice before decide or not to buy Sony PS3 console.

Microsoft actually makes money by changing $40 for Xbox live plus selling accessories such as facials for xbox360 and Microsoft Points not to mention live market place where XBOX360 owner can buy full games such as Street Fighter, Role Playing games and avatar pictures If Microsoft want to reduce the price of XBOX360 they could do that today if hey want to I expect to see Price drop from Microsoft in near future if not then by this year end .

In France PS3 had terrible Launch the French almost all refuse to purchase PS3 News reports say 95% of all launch PS3 left Unsold in UK PS3 sold well enough on it’s launch date but how many return’s were there? And is the selling momentum going to keep up probably not because Sony PS3 fanbys are the one who been waiting for more than a year who purchased the PS3 mainly. And rest of the Europe Sony had moderate success but it doesn’t look like it will last. All major Publishers are moving over to XBOX360 simply because Microsoft already sold more than 10 million XBOX360. The latest move is from CAPCOM witch has announced DVIL MAY CRY 4 for XBOX360 DMC was Sony exclusive only but not any more Other Sony Exclusive titles will follow the same suit simply because Publishers such as CAPCOM, NAMCO, Konami, Square & Enix, stand loosing tens of millions of dollars if they decide to stick only with Sony/PS3 the software publishers are aware of this and so is Sony…

new systems aren't released and instantly superior like the 360 is now, it takes time,money and marketing, ps3 is damn hot, i know this,most the guys on here know this, developers know this, even most 360 fanboys know this, and soon, not tomorrow, not next week, but soon, ps3 will unleash its real power, and 360 (while being a great system) will seem a lot less attractive.

speculation is over, we all know its powerful, now we sit back and let the good times roll

So blu-ray is nothing but a new generation dvd player? Do your homework idiot, PS3 games COME ON BLU-RAY DISCS!!! Blu-ray is perfectly suited to high def gaming because of the sheer amount of information it's able to store and in a few years we will all be grateful for this extra space since games are getting bigger all the time. MS have HD DVD but this doesn't offer the amount of storage that blu-ray does. How is the PS3 inferior to the 360? PS3 cell processor = 8 cores. 360 processor = 3 cores....hmm....see the difference? Get your facts right before you come on here slating the PS3, you probably haven't even been on one.

Don't get me wrong I'm not a Sony fanboy, it's just not good when people try to tell you something they obviously know nothing about.

as charlie said, how can someone come and slate a consol with 2 year old facts, since that very interesting fictional article was written sony has vamped up the ps3 and have given it more than the 360 has to offer. im no fanboy, this is jus simple facts, lets get it straight, the 360 is a cool system and is very hot, but the ps3 is bigger,badder and stronger and once it gets going it will leave 360 in the dark, perhaps not in sales but in power and in games

So What if PS3 games come on BLUE RAY DISC have you taken a moment and check what the capacity the games on BLUE RAY DISC actually is??. It's no more than 6.5GB. Dual Layer DVDs are 8.5GB. and the reason I show 2 years old technical comparison was because Sony made no improvements to PS3 in 2 years.

well guys, tony obviously knows something that everyone else,including sony, doesn't so i think im gonna take my ps3 back to the store and get me one of those, what are they called, mega drives, you know the ones, they have 580gb hard drives and play the worlds most superior graphics,

i mean come on tony, your supporting info. is almost as old as the movie where you ripped your nickname off

The larger storage capacity will enable more content on disc. So in other words, these "next generation DVD players" are more futureproof than your DVD player. What if in 2 years, a game comes out that takes up 10 GB or 20 GB? And I can assure you that the games and other media will increase in size rapidly. Think of the Moore's law or Kryder's law. (look it up if you don't know what they are) There is a reason why this is the next generation.

On a side note, Blu-ray version of Casino Royale just sold over 100,000 copies in the US, it took DVD 11 months to reach the 100,000 copies sold status (with Air Force One in 1998), while with Casino Royale, it only took Blu-ray 9 months to achieve this milestone. So like it or not, the next generation is here.
