Yellow Dog Linux 5.0
Hi peeps,I'm new to the forum(as no doubt you will tell),I usually use motorsports and Car forums,so please forgive me if I am not very technicly minded or up on the lingo for games machines ect,but I want to ask a question,and this seems like the place for answers.
I am interested in installing Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 on my new PS3,has anyone here done it firstly ?,and does that mean if installed I loose the standard XMB,or will it become an ikon that I can select so to choose when to run it ?
Sorry if its a silly question or I have it in wrong section,but to me this is all new,and to be honest I dont want to loose the tools I have in the standard xmb,remote play through PSP,Playstation store ect,But my PC is very tired and old,and would like to use the PS3.
Finally as Sony intend you to be able to use another OS will it void any warranty ?

One you can not mess it up so badly you break the ps3 jsut hold the power swich for 10 sec on boot till you hear 2 beeps and it will hard reset
yes it has been done and is easy to do go to http://ps3.qj.net/PS3-Linux-The-void...g/49/aid/73144 they have a great guide but its for fedora core 5 but jsut replace yellow dog in place of fedora and your good to go. but also jsut to let you know it run slow because it cant use all of the ps3 ram because of the way its made
