Grand Theft Auto IV!!!

I don't know if anybody has heard but GTA IV will be set in New York. Not Liberty City but New York. The new trailer is here: http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/trailer_splash.html. I looks pretty damn awesome! I'm super freaking pumped now!

Welcome to my nightmare, I think you're going to like it.

The game looks great. The setting might look like new york, but I think the game is still set in liberty city, on one scene, there was a LCPD police car driving by the street. Unless if Rockstar decided to recycle the vehicle models for this trailer, I would say this is still Liberty City.

It's Liberty City. There is the LCPD cars and the Ferry Boat Bridge says "Liberty" on it just a few letters are missing.

how can you say the game looks good - there is nothing in the trailer except nice graphics

Well I think there is a reason to be excited about this game. I remember before Gears of War came out, a friend of mine would not shut up about it and had posters and stuff. But what reason did he have to think the game would be good? Screenshots? Video clips? These amount to jack shit. Personally I thought Gears was pretty dull. Who wants to play a generic third person shooter where you go around killing big aliens. I did that in like 1995 with duke nukem 3D. But GTA is different because it is a series and every other game in the series has ****ing rocked. It has built a name for itself and I don't see how GTA IV can ruin that name.

i dunno what to think i love grand theft auto 3, vice city ,and san andreas.
A bit disappointed it is set in new york but the graphics look good WE WILL HAVE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS p.s hope there is more cities

A few different countries would be good,but then the list goes on.I do hope it does come to the ps3 though,i though the other 3 games were great.

How on earth did you guys spot the LCPD car? I had to replay it twice and then pause right on the point where it appears - HDTV surely isn't that good???

Playstation 3 - The Ultimate Guide

Yeah it does look like Liberty City and not actual "New York". Does anybody else think that GTA III didn't really look too much like New York? Vice City and San Andreas had distinct locations and characteristics to match thier cities. GTA III was a great game but it didn't represent New York to me. IV looks like NYC to scale. I think it's pretty sweet. To actually walk down Time Square would be cool. I'm also predicting more cities. Maybe Chicago or London? Maybe my home town Columbus, Ohio? LoL! Yeah right. I don't know but I'm pretty pumped about this game.

Run the trailer in super Slow-mo during the section where they pan through the street in fast motion, in one scene there is a LCPD cop car driving by.

EDIT: I was watching this on my computer, and the video stream stopped at the right position for me to spot the car... lol So I guess I can thank my choppy video stream for it.

EDIT 2: The frame with the cop car is at 30 seconds in the video timeline.

Yeah I did see it - I guessed where to pause to find the car, just wondering how a few of you saw it. Didn't imagine everyone would be slowing it down during playback

I am looking forward to this sequel in the series, although not near as much as others. These games don't appeal to me like it does to it's rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth fans. I just can't play the others for nearly as long as other people and still have enjoyment. Just doesn't work.

Well the graphics sure are nice but since it showed 0 game play footage I'm going to assume it's going to be A LOT like the other games.

This game looks awesome! After watching the trailer I was amazed. I can't wait until the release date.

Interesting to find out what the soundtracks will be in this next game. In san andreas and vice city, i noticed the music on the radio stations was good. Vice city had a dts soundtrack which was awesome, so i wonder if GTA 4 will have a dts soundtrack. It gives a more crispier sound and better clarity. Just imagine how good these graphics are going to be, this is truly the next generation in gaming. Bring on Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark. Regards Grassy

i can't wait for this game to come out, finally there going back to GTA's roots with taking it to New York (or Liberty city) and now that a some what russian or european guy is the main man it should be one hell of a game, the detail in the city should be amazing but i still think the actual characters wont look that much more different then san andreas, but still im going to pre order it sometime this week

Way to go Jeter, san andreas was a huge game and without some of those cheats, it would have took me twice as long to finish it. Just recently purchased a new projector"Yamaha dpx1300" and cant wait to get this new game up and running. Grassy

if any of you lot go on gamespot,(i think it is the best game site) it sais in there review that it is new york but liberty city....and the man speaking on it sound russion or sumfin lol.....but i think it is quite wird cus of the music and im not being racist but all the other gta's has all been black, i/e san andreas is all black gansta and this just seem well difo than all the other

the story line will probs be your charater meeting some1 and getting invovled with a gang(like saints row)

it wil be intresting what the story line will be...

does any1 think there will be some from the others like san andreas ??
