I got my 20" HDTV for $450 CAD. Not bad at all. Why would you even get a EDTV?

I was just making a point that a 19" EDTV would not cost $700, that would be like me paying $470 for 2 more inches

BTW: EDTV- Enhanced Definition Television, it runs at 480p, its a step up from SDTV, but not at the quality of HDTV

Enhanced Definition TV. It's between SDTV and HDTV. SDTV is 480i, EDTV is 480p (and sometimes 576p) and HDTV is 720p and higher.

My advice would be to save, save and save. Be patient and you will be able to afford a better model down the track. While you are saving do your homework on the internet for HDTV models and then go out to the shops and ask questions about the models you sre looking for. Remember you are not obligated to buy anything. Just do your homework. If you know what you want before you buy, then it will be much easier to do your bargaining. For $500 you could get someting pretty" cool", but how cool is cool. What do YOU want. Regards Grassy
