Sony to 'block PS3 Euro imports'
I dont know about the rest of the Europe, but I am sick to death of being the last people to get hold of the latest technology.
The gaming industry are constantly talking about how they want to unite all gamers across the globe, with online play, but the best way to unite the world is to release the console world wide, Im sick of waiting up to 6 months after the US and Jap maket have had their console, they have a chance of playing, clocking and mastering the games before we even have a chance of seeing the new consoles.
This happens every time a new console is released, I think its about time that Sony showed some support for us Europeans and compensated us for always leaving us last.
They are now trying to put heavy laws in place to prevent Europeans buying imported versions of their console when its released in US and Japan.
But consider these few facts:
1. As a hard core gamer of 20 years, how do you think we feel when the rest of the world are having fun, boasting how good or not a game is while we sit here twiddling our thumbs, watching trailers.
2. At least 15-20 percent of US and Jap sales come from Europe in the first few months of a new console. We pay over the odds to get the latest machine, we end up paying a lot more then the US and Jap customers. So should we not get a fair deal for once? If you are going to let us have the console so late, then you should at least drop the price to be lower then US and Jap markets, but instead we will be paying more for waiting patiently for 6 months. Also by the time its released over here, the jap and US price gets ready to drop. So for this reason alone you are evil to stop people spending there hard earned cash on imported machines. If you cant guarentee us a fair deal then dont take away our imports. If we are not allowed to buy imports, then 1000's of gamers get hurt, if we are allowed we at least get some sort of comfort for the delays, and Sony dont lose a penny as they are still selling their console.
So I ask Sony, either release the console at the same time everywhere or let us buy imported until its released here in Europe. Dont isolate us from the rest of the world.
Everyone please let me know your feelings on this matter.
Also if anyone knows how to get hold of their head office, maybe we can get a petition together and get our views noticed.
