European launch delayed until March 2007
Sony have today officially announced the European Playstation 3 launch date has been delayed until March 2007.

The delay which is only affecting PAL regions has been cited as "production issues with the blue laser diodes needed for the Blu-Ray drive".

Sony originally had plans for a simulataneous global release in November, but it now seems Russia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australasia will now have to wait until March 2007 to get their hands on a PS3.

However North America and Japan release dates are unaffected and will go ahead as previously planned.

Goodness, this is bad publicity!

I hope sony will get the consoles here in Australia eventually without any drawbacks again.

Too bad i will never get the ps3 for christmas (my parents would never buy it for me anyway, lol, too expensive now)

I think that Sony have made a mistake by not having the consoles in Europe before Christmas - when they could outstrip the competition. I think people may be buying the Wii instead!
