would love to see the source cause why the hell would it cost 850 to make and sell for 600?? seems a lil bogus cause for anyone to build something and sell it, it would to be to make money and not to lose it... maybe the pricing is for each individual part and not if the parts were bought in a bulk where they could get a price break... jmho

and also, i guess it is right and where i think they get all their money from the $60 games they are selling cause the ps3 is useless without the games... again i could be wrong...

sony actualy do sell the ps3 at a loss, For now they make there money on the games. Though they will eventualy make money on their console it will just take a while for there expensive thechnology to come down in price.

Yeah thats about right. What it really means is that BD isn't solely responsible for the cost of the PS3. Cell was probably a mistake as thats clearly adding a butt load to the cost and a standard AMD or Intel quad core would probably be cheaper and still outperform it.

Meh.

On paper the Cell cpu should kick ass, BUT will they even program to use it to its full potential. If the software was written for it i would think for now it could easily beat amd or intel.

Then again isnt folding@homing winning on the cpu power for the ps3 at the moment.

I still find the difference in assembly cost very shocking! Almost 34 dollars!

Where is the 360 made? In china by 6 year olds?
