So I have already installed YDL and updated it with the patch kernel-ps3-2.6.16-20070425.ydl.3.ppc64.rpm

I have already successfull edited the Kboot.conf file and my system loads up perfectly. I have tried to set up my wi-fi connection but I cant connect to my router, even checking my router logs the PS3 has made no effert at all to connect. I then decided to install wi-fi radar and this says there is no signal found for any wi-fi.

So I am beginning to think that for some reason my ps3 drivers for wi-fi dont work and the wi-fi device isnt even turned on.

Though in network settings it does display the sony wi-fi adapter is there.

So anyone got anyide on what to do ?

What type of Wi-fi access point you have???
I mean is it working on 801.11???
Anyway because it seems hard to install (i mean the install is easy but if you do something wrong you have to format) I suggest you to wait a little bit longer just to release new YDL 6.0 where wi-fi is going to be in. LINUX for ps3 is developing every day. You see Linux needs programming skills.

lol yeah, i figured that its hard to use. I have spent ages and ages to try and get the thing working. Even if i did get it working then there is the problem of configuring the thing under WPA.

Well my wifi router works on 801.11b/g so I shoudnt have any problems, its just a big pain. I have searched all over the net and most peoples problems is to do with changing the kboot.conf file. I guess the whole wifi thing on the ps3 is too new for now.

But I am guessing my problem lies with the gelic drivers as when i select the sony wifi hardware tag on teh network setting it just comes up with something like gelic drivers not found.

I guess ill just have to wait a little while longer, its too time consuming and probably hard for me to figure it out on my own.

Thats the problem with Linux 10.000.000.000.000.000.000..... things and all of these you have to do it by your own. We are not programmers (at least for now) we are users!!!

please please please if anyone could help me i would be so greatfull,i have a ps3,i have wireless internet in my house,my flatmate got a pc and he lets me use it now and again,i realise that im not very good when it comes to this sort of thing but i must keep trying,anyway iv been trying for ages and ages to find where i can download ydl 5.0 for my ps3 for free,im probilly looking everywhere but right in front of me but please please please help me.sorry to be a pain but if theres anything else i need to download please could you give me names and links for them as well.thank you for your time.
