It doesn't really bother me. I've got my system and I'm happy with it. The hard drive can be upgraded anyway so I don't think it much of a problem. Best of all upgrading your hard drive doesn't invalidate the warranty

Just got off Gamesradar.com and Korea Official Playstation Site has details on 80 gig ps3 to be released soon. No word on how much and if it will go eventually worldwide but it will be cheaper to get a larger hdd than 80 and install it. As to how much and how to install: Firstly Google SATA 2.5 inch hard drive and you should get sites like pc world etc showing prices. Secondly look in you manual with ps3 and instructions are there. MUST be SATA 2.5 inch hdd. No others will fit.

Actually, the 80GB is only for Korea. Sony have said that it wont be released in America (and as far as I'm concerned that means Europe too).

i agree i think its b/s we spent 600 bucks some of us more for the 60g and for them to release and 80g its like sony is trying to compete with the 360's 120g elite mod or w/e its to early in the game to be altering your product

unless you download movies and what not left right and centre,60gb should be ample for the majority of people

So what they can if they want, components get cheaper so for the same
cost they can put in a better item deal with it thats electronics for you

links to some really large laptop drives from supplier here in the uk

http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=325713

http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=336007

both 9.5 mm high so will fit inside PS3

Might invest in the 250gb one

OK, lets compare.

60gb PS3 - $500

+motorstorm - $50
+HDD - $60

that equals $610

80gb PS3 - 600
a $10 difference

-HOWEVER-

Sony ripped out the emotion Engine for PS2 games and replaced it with an emulator to save them $29. and the downside is that it will work with only 70-75% of games, compared to the current 98-99%.

It that worth losing $10

Besides, Click HERE for the upgrading HDD info
