Hello, Noob question here so please be kind!

I've got a HD readt TV but at the moment im only using the standard lead that comes with the PS3. Does the HDMI cable really make that much difference, say on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being not much difference and 10 being a major improvement.

i don't own a HDMI cable, basically because i think it makes no difference what so ever. unless you site 3ft away from your screen then there is no point. it probably increases the sharpness a little or whatever...but not enough of an improvement for the money...uh hu!

so stick with the original cables for the mean time...

YES u must use an hdmi cable, it makes a ton of difference u bought the HDTV to get the best picture right. u have an HDTV and have been using composite cables wow, get the HDMI as soon as you can, hey smity what are u talking about ur telling this guy to use composite cables with his HDTV wtf

A HDMI cable would be better but it's not essential. Also don't be fooled into thinking that an expensive one is better than a cheap one. Unless your TV is ridiculously huge you'll never see the difference.

The difference between composite and HDMI is huge.... ****ing huge. The difference between component and HDMI isn't as big.

You can get HD through component too. But ya, you really need HD to enjoy the PS3, and composite isn't HD.

For your best experience use HDMI. Now there are cables that cost from 9-100euros. I use the 9euros one. I think there is not any visible difference between 9-100 euros cables

There won't be any difference between the cheap and the expensive ones since it is digital. The cheaper ones may wear and break more easily though.

i used to think that there wasnt going to be much diffrench on my xbox 360 standard cable but i picked up a hd vga cable and the diffrence is immense,so when i get my ps3 ( hopefully tomorrow ) i shall def be getting a hdmi cable
