Ok firstly, i ordered some CD from sony containing some sort of update.

It will be here in 7 working days..

anyway onto the thread problem. I'm currently downloading the PS3 update from the eu sony PS site. It's a pretty big file, 110MB.

Can i put this file onto my friends MP3 player and then put the MP3 into my PS3 and update it like that?

oh and another thing, i'm so close to getting online, just when i go onto the update part, it's saying it's updating but the bar is on 0% then after about 2 min it says can't connect to the HTTP proxy server or summit =/

to do it like that you need to first create a folder called ps3 then in there you create a folder called update then put it in there and do it all in uppercase. wether you can do it from an mp3 player i dont know, you prob can i suppose!

yeah i've created a folder called PS3 and another one within that folder called UPDATE
