ah ****..so i'm going to have to download that onto my PC now?...urghh lol

but can i play games? like PS2 games because it has an option for upscaling PS/PS2 games to normal or full screen..

Downscaled output of Blu-ray Discs is now supported. When 720p is selected as the video output setting of the PS3™ system, Blu-ray Discs that were recorded in 1080p or 1080i resolution can be played in 720p resolution.

But if you don't have an HDTV what advantage does Blu-ray have over DVD? You could get a DVD for cheaper.

720p is better than 480p

Before this update, people with ps3 couldnt play BD on ther non HDTV. Its just to give the option of... i know it doesnt makes much sense. Its like the HDMI on the xbox 360 Elite

You can't play ALL PS2 games. There's still loads that aren't compatible at all or are compatible but have something wrong with them. God of War 2 works perfectly
