Right...I just bought my ps3 today and I'm having problems already.

I had it working once, and managed to play Resistance:Fall of man, but about 30 minutes into it my ps3 crashed and I switched it off. This was the only time I managed to turn it on, as I was having problems to begin with and I don't know what I did to get it to work the first time, I just switched it off then on at the sockets etc and it went on...

I also watched an "idiots guide" to turning your ps3 on and off on youtube, and it says on there i should have two red lights under my on/off button... but only the right one is on and when i press the button on my controller to switch it on nothing happens... really dont know whats going on, can anyone help me?

ok you should only have one red light on when it is off...and if you don't have any on then you should hit the switch on the back of the ps3 to turn it on...anyways it sounds like you have one red light which is good...maybe you should press the ps button longer(hold down the button) and if that doesnt' work then your controller might not be charged...but go to your ps3 and press the on button (actually its not a button you just put your finger on it and it turns on...and if that doesn't work check your sockets...and if that doesn't work then call sony

I've tried all that (apart from call sony) and i push the on button, the green light comes on then the blue one, then it cuts out after about 10-15 seconds and beeps three times...sometimes the screen flickers a little bit, could it be something to do with my tv? Wouldnt have thought so though because I did get it working eventually the first time

your hard drive must of crashed when it froze and you had to shut it off by the back switch. Ive seen videos like that on youtube you should call sony and explain your problem

Try holding down the on button till you hear the second beep. If that doesn't work, call Sony and rip them a new one.

That sucks dude, i thought this was only meant to happen to 360 =P

na call sony and they will get it sorted, or do one better if you got the reciet (sp) take it back to the store you got it from.

sorry about your luck man...but exchange your ps3 and you should be worry free...

Well let's hope it is just bad luck, going to replace it tomorrow so fingers crossed. If the second one gives me the same problems I might aswell invest the money in a handgun, I WANT TO PLAY MY PS3!!!

Dont worry, its a very smallchance you will get a defective Ps3, if you have the reciept take it back to the store and get another, if not phone Sony and see if they know whats wrong, if not they'll send a new one out.

That totally sucks man. As the others said, get your receipt if you still have it and send it back to the store, otherwise ring sony. Let us know how the new one goes. Your really missing out man.... sorry, couldn't resist.

JUST CALL SONY or take it back to the store if you jsut got it then take it back
