DVI to HDMI

Help,

I have a HD Ready Phillips 32ph5520/10d tv, but it only Has a DVI connection, I am using a DVI to Hdmi lead on my PS3, but when i try to use it on the HD channel i get a no signal input sign appear on my tv. It works ok with the av leads but i want to use the PS3 in HD. I have done all the usual setting changes but to no joy, am i being a nugget or does it just not work with a DVI cable.

no it does work. what youy have to do is put the normal scart back in that came with the ps3. turn the ps3 on and go to settings. there should be a video option or display option there somewhere that allows you to change it from normal av scart to hdmi or dvi or whatever. when you change the settings, put the hdmi cable in and it should show up on the screen. let me know if this works

well my hdtv has DVI too.....but i don't use it...=/

trust me, composit produces the same quality HDMI does..you only notice the difference between the two when playing on a really big tv like a 46'' or summit..

Just keep the power button pressed for 2 or 3 seconds until your PS3 beeps. After it resets you will be able to use the HDMI-DVI connecton to your tv.

Buy a component AV cable for your PS3. It will give you a picture better than composite and just as good as DVI/HDMI.

Smithy-Composite can only go up to 480i, HDMI can go up to 1080p.
