My ps3 is loud
Alright everyone. OK when i fist got it, it was as quiet as a mouse no problems, but now that is not the case. its loud, first of all it starts of all quiet, and then about 5 minutes into a game in gets loud as hell have any of you noticed this?, is it because i vacuumed out the vents and my vacuum is quite powerful? i knew i shouldn't of done this, i would appreciate a reply.

mine is quiet but the fan boots up more often on certain games, do u have ur ps3 in an enclosed area?
sometimes you can hear it reading the disc too but that usually only on a spcific part of the game where there is a lot goin on at once
im not too concerned just yet, when it gets as loud as my mates 360, then i will worry a tad

It said in OPM that Firmware updates, Downloads and game files all contribute to the loudness of the ps3. The more memory it stores the faster the fan goes or some shit like that.

I would be a little worried, I can never hear mine at all. Putting a powerful vacuum up to the vents could've distorted the fan so its being noisy. Does it sound like the fan?

NOOOOO!
You should never do that without sticking someting in the fan to stop it. If youlet it spin freely, it can overspin and damage the fan. (which happens if you vacumme it.)
The way the fan blades are aligned, it spins the fan the normal way, only about 50 faster which is very bad

If any of you had read the manual which came with the ps3 it does state to clean out the vents use a vacuum cleaner on low power to get rid off dust, which is what i use and mine is fine so far.
