Help For PS3

Well I plan to get a PS3 soon but not yet and have a couple questions this is the HTIB that I have http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4346/untitled22sj9.png
It goes up to 1080i so I was wondering is 1080p a lot better than 1080i and is there a very big difference between the two?How much would an HTIB cost that has 1080 p?Also I have a HDMI cable from my HTIB to my 52" Panasonic HDTV and if I wanted to setup a PS3 with the home theater system and HDTV how would I set it up to get the best picture and sound I can get and I have the component cables that I dont use. Also I dont that much about the home theater systems but jsut what exactly does a reciever do and do you really need to get one for your home theater system?

1080P is not worth the money yet wait a few years. How many HDMI inputs do you have on your TV? If you only have 1 then you can pick up a HDMI Switcher. When you say Reciver are you talking about a Audio reciever or a Dish reciever.

If you want home theater sound you need a receiver. You should be able to use the DVD/Reciever that you have with a PS3 for Audio by using a fiber optical cord. Also keep in mind the DVD player you have Upconverts a 480p DVD to HD 1080i most upconverters can not improve the picture quality.

I was thinking about maybe getting the piece by piece system not all in one so can anyone show me some good speakers and receivers or receiver sets with speakers on Bestbuy.ca or Futureshop.ca?
