PS3 console does not match format of the games
Ive just spoken to Sony once again. Im really not technically minded at all so its quite funny that this is making any sense at all but it kind of does. Basically my sons ps3 was bought in Japan. I am in UK. Apart from the games bought with the console in Japan when the two games bought from the UK are inserted this comes up "The system software of your ps3 system is verion 1.10. To start you must update to version 1.50 or later. Do you want to update now?" When I press enter it says "No applicable update data was found". The sony rep says its because its a japanese consul - Im so confused because I believed all games would play. He explained its a different format. I believe its NTSC and the games must be PAL. Is there anything I can do? Can I purchase NTSC games from UK? Is there anything I can do to get around this loophole. He told me not to update the system (not that its letting me anyway) as it will corrupt the PS3.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.
