Alright, I'm either getting a ps3 or a 360 I cant really decide since the ps3 is 499.99 now I have finally thought about getting one.

Since I cant pick I'm asking for your help, the games I really want are on both systems.

If you could answer some of my questions. I have a wii and I want a system with good graphics, good online play ( I don't really like paying..) I'm also I fan of sports games, First Person Shooters. Shoot them up games in general.

Get a 360. Its got better graphics and better online. The sports games on 360 are generally of better quality too, with better graphics and a better frame rate. Though th majority of high scoring games on PS3 are shooters, the shooters on 360 such as Gears of War and Halo are much better.

ps3 all the way, most ps3 games right now are fps or sports, free online play is ok at the moment but home is on the way which will make psn alot better than xbl. and the biggest reason to get the ps3 over the 360, the 360 breaks for no reason is load as hell and overheats like crazy, the ps3 doesn't brake easy is very quite and is normally cool to the touch. hell i could go on for awhile so just buy the ps3 and have a great time.

ps3! especially if you've gt a hd tv. with a built in hdmi it can output 1080p. As well as playing games on it you can also watch hi def movies on it, summit u cannot do on the shitbox. plus better games will be coming out on the ps3 from this month onwards. trust me, check the release dates list for both consoles and you'll see what i mean

To be honest, this is the wrong place to ask. Only a couple of us will recommend the 360 to you because everyone else on this forum is a fanboy cunt. Especially the guy above me.

Callmege, you didnt give him any good points about the ps3. You just rambled on about the 360. If you cant think of anything positive to say about the ps3, then you must be barking.

I own both a PS3 and a 360 so I can give unbiased advice. I used to be a bit of a playstation fanboy and wanted to hate the 360 so much, but I caved in and now I play it more than the PS3.

Right firstly graphics. I would say at the moment 360 wins on the majority of titles that are made for both platforms. DiRT is graphically better (though framerates are slightly lower), as is Skate (by quite a margin) and Stranglehold. I've never played Gears of War or Halo and neither have really interested me so I can't comment on them, however I bought The Orange Box on 360 and I'm loving that. I'm only really using my PS3 at the moment for exclusives (such as GT5 and MGS4 and the limited exclusive Unreal Tournament 3).

Online I have never used the 360 online because I don't want to pay. Simple as that. I can get all the demos I want for free, so that's fine by me. PS3 is obviously free online and from when I've used its been very reliable (though that's only tested with Motorstorm and Resistance). PS3 has blu-ray of course which is excellent (don't get me started on the add-on HD-DVD player for the 360), plus will have many more future exciting prospects like the the digital tuner and recording to the HDD.

Speaking of the HDD. 120GB in the 360 Elite (plus HDMI) is an attractive option (and the one I own), compared to the smaller HDD in the PS3 (yes you can upgrade, but that's beside the point).

My honest advice? Get both. I honestly believe this is one console war where the winner is Nintendo, because PS3 and 360 are so equally matched (and will be more so when PS3 gets more games) that getting both is the only win-win situation!

nintendo have made a gimmick, its a game cube with flappy contols, none of the 3rd party devs can make games that use the flappys and all the nintendo games are shit! the only game i ever play on it is wii bowling. the wii should really not be conpared to the others, and the reason it sells so much is because its f****ing cheap!!!!! why cant people see this

Oh I agree, the Wii being so cheap has helped it immensely, but then it can't really be classed as "next-gen" either, so I agree, it can't be compared to PS3 or 360 so I take back that statement. However I still believe PS3 and 360 are equally matched and the only win-win situation is to get both.

I originally got a 360 because I wanted to play Bioshock but didn't have a PC powerful enough to do it justice (nor is the PC I have upgradeable - stupid Dell). Now though, I own, besides Bioshock, The Orange Box, PGR4, Dead Rising and Juiced 2 (and intend on getting Skate and Stranglehold at some point).

i went through 2 360's and after the second one busted i decided id had enough, thats why i have the ps3 now and im glad i have it cause i much prefere it to the 360. hell, i can watch blu ray movies!! oh, and yes the 2 main consoles are very evenly matched at the mo but i do believe that the ps3 will be better in time.
