Ps3 Wireless - Urgent Help Required
Before i boot the PS3 up and down my street.
Right i'm not techy but not stupid with computers and the internet. here's my prob.
Yesterday bought a PS3 - all good.
Wanted to connect to the internet so i could play Pro Ev.
Got a wirless router (netsgear - and the provider is Sky broadband!).
The PS3 appears to get the signal (100%) - then i start on all the questions.
I reply no to security (as i don't know my WEP code).
I reply to everything - auto or easy etc.
Everything is fine until i got to tect connection - it always times out. Is this coz i havent entered my WEP code?
If so where can i get it?
Also i tried to put an ethernet cable on it - that seemed to work, but when i wnet to go on network play it asked for a reg no. which i had and a password. where do i get the password from if i haven't set one up?

if you didn't set up a secure network it should be fine. Your WEP is something you would've set up.....try running through your wireless router set up again.....for mine I had to go to a website that it gave me in the directions to set up the router with security and all that....
ethernet should be a plug and play thing....well it was for me....the password for it might be from your provider from when you originally set up the account...
Sorry thats all i could think of at the moment....hope some of it helps, and maybe someone else on here can help ya some more...

i have sky internet too. they giv u a wep code with the modem. u need to enter it on the ps3 in order for u to go online

can i use an ethernet cable to get internet using DSL and without a wireless router?

look at the barcode(s) on the router and try the numbers on them. i dont know exactily which one but it is one of them. if this helped please tell me
