WELLLLL, I got a XBOX360 2 months ago. Love it. Got the "pro" version with 20G HD. I like the controllers better than ps3, they seem to fit my adult hands a little better (hoping the dual shock 3 for ps3 changes that....its supposedly a bit bigger). Love the online movies, and tv shows (bought a few SouthPark episodes). Using a component connection to my 27" 720P TV, I get pretty much comparable graphics as the ps3. Have had some issues (very annoying) with connecting bluetooth headset to the ps3, NONE at all with connecting headset to XBOX360. Got the GOLD package for 360, ps3 is free (thats a plus). Overall VERY satisfied with the XBOX360 UNTIL.....

A couple of weeks ago (ie: unit at 2 months old) my 360 froze. Solid. No fixing it. Called MS, they need me to send it in for fixing -- will take 3-4 weeks. They're sending me a postage paid box (its been 2 weeks but over the holidays so I'll cut them some slack).

So just my 2 cents worth. I really liked the 360, maybe even a little better than the ps3 overall (although paying for the gold package versus PSN free is a bonus for ps3). However.... my ps3 has taken a beating (literally-thanks to my kid!!!), rarely cleaned, left on for hours and even days at times, and have had zero problems. Three weeks ago had I had to choose between the 2 systems I might have picked the 360. But thats assuming the thing is working. I now have a new appreciation for the ps3 and its durability and reliability versus the competition. And oh by the way, I still have my 6 year old ps2 unit doing duty on the kitchen tv as a secondary dvd player and occassional game player - have never had a problem with it either.

Just a side note: I was going to get Rock Band for my kids for x-mas for the 360. Bestbuy was sold out for 360 but still had ps3 version available. REALLY glad I got it for ps3 or they would have had nothing essentially (rockband was thier big present basically) for xmas!!!!

So, moral of the story?? 360 is not a bad package, good graphics, good online features (which is why i got it to start with), good games. BUT, and its a REALLY, REALLY important one, the ps3 is basically just as good (my nit picks aside) AND it has the important benefit of actually working for more than 2 months!!!!

I'm already at the point of if I have to choose between 2 common games I'll pick the ps3 version (ex: Call of duty 4 - I already traded in my 360 copy of the game for the ps3 version as i REALLY like this game and want to actually play it!!!! Got Orange Box for ps3 also). This limits me to only buying 360 exclusive games for the 360 (ie:Halo 3) which reduces its overall value to me.

Get a ps3 and go have fun without any worries.
