Are any of you pre-ordering your ps3? Do you think it will go out of stock very quickly or do you think people will be able to buy it without having to pre-order it?
Personally I don't see the point of pre ordering as it is just as much a lottery. Stores are not going to be able to gaurantee pre orders so who gets them first? First on the list, first come first served? Who knows. One things for sure if you are that desperate and can access double the retail value visit ebay they will be on there for sale the same day no doubt.
Well im gonna hold of pre-ordering until i know a definite date. I live in the UK and really dont fancy shelling out for a supposed date sometime in March.
No doubt nearer the time i will, but only once i have confirmation that it's a first come first served basis and im near the top
The pre-ordering process is a bit of a joke - there will be very limited Consoles available on launch, and you are unlikely to receive one straight away.
Nice business for the shops though, you pay upfront and the shop is guaranteed a sale, no matter when the Console actually arrives.
Until they are used as competition prizes on radio and t.v I wouldn't get your hopes up. I would imagine a fair bit of money is going to be made in this way as it always does. The ordinary folk on the street are the last in the queue in these situations.
I had the PS2 on pre-order when it came out and felt quite pleased that I had done so - as it went out of stock quickly. I am with you though Sprint on this one - I'll wait to see when the likely release date is.
I've done pre-ordering before and been disappointed. I pre-ordered the PSP and found that I was a very long way down the list. I'd already bought in the USA, with European region, weeks before they eventually said mine was in. I'd actually cancelled my pre-order and got my deposit back but they still contacted me.
