Ok so i moved a few MP3's to a thumb drive and tried to "upload" them to the HDD and it said "no tracks found". I know you can put in a disc with .cda files and it does fine, but who has CD's anymore? How can i load mp3's to PS3, without burning them to .cda format first?????

I'm having the same problem, and as far as I can tell, even if you put in a CD, you can't store it to the HD. I think it should be possible to listen to you own music while gaming, so if you can't store them on the HD this is impossible. It looks like you can buy mp3s from Playstation store, but they're having a laugh if we're expected to buy all the mp3s we already own just for that privelege.

Anyone got any suggestions? I'm already sick of the music on fight night 3

yea we should get the option to listen to or own music and change the track when your in a game just like the 360, im also having the same problems uploading mp3's

what i did was plug my ipod in via usb, go to music on dashboard, it will show up usb device, hit triangle, display all, pick a track hit triangle and copy

Yes... All of these "Next-Gen" consoles have trouble understanding the MP3 format. They can play them, but not rip them. Strictly .cda boys... strictly...

i`m having the same problem, it only reads the mp3`s i`ve downloaded and not anything from and of my cd`s, i have about 3000 songs on my iriver,(like an ipod)
and all it does is read the folders and downloaded mp3`s....do i need and update or somthing

lol i got like a thousand mp3's in my ps3 straight from my ipod in one go. i just fiddled with it a little. i even use it to rip music from my cd's into mp3 format and it works better than my pc to say the least. like the other guy said... the triangle button.

I have an external usb HDD plugged in ps3 to hear music. I have never had any problem ripping music from cd. And I've got 500gb of music. You see you cant give 650euros to buy a ps3 and you don't know what to do with it. Start learning some technical parts. Ps3 is not only a game console but a PC. Learn to use it (friendly advice) Get closer view of technology this is the future.

you could also just go to www.friends21.com and download the MP3 *free* straight to your PS3 HDD from the internet browser like i do. (note that this isnt advertising)
