Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.7GHz little miss print i thinks everyone knows the intels are just 2 duel cores.... its not true quad core so way pretend ? just call it 2x Dual Core

And for the record that is no where near a high end pc. thats around 1000 pound build.... thats a standerd gaming machine im afrade. if you want serious power you need to look at the 2-4k bracket i would say 3k and stop buying cheap crap

its easy mate just high light a section of text hit (Ctrl C) Then to paste (shift Insert) makes life so much easyer and faster than finding products and typing it . but then i have it all saved under a quote on ebuyer for when i get my tax back. So kinda very easy for me.

Thinking about changing to athlon phenom TBH and doubleing the ram and 2x 500gm sata 16mb cach western digital.

but miss out a load of other stuff im getting like the BFG phis card and the screen and stuff like that so i could stay on your wave lengh

But if I am to take you seriously, and acknowledge that you meant DUAL cores, I must point you to the facts that:

1) It is still called a Core2Quad, regardless of how those cores are set up, and
2) There are still 4 cores, regardless of how those cores are set up.

Yeah I know, I'll go replace my existing mobo which is actually more than I need, with an even better mobo, that wont increase my frame rate in games and costs me £100 more. If I can find it at all. l2fp noob. You haven't got a ****ing clue mate. My Asus P5N32-E SLi PLUS is more than enough for my current needs.

Twice the price, not even close to twice the performance (especially at my low resolution. If I SLid them I might get 5fps more over a single GTX...which my GTS outperforms anyway), only idiots and people with far too much money bother with SLi.

A phenom? lulz. Under performing, buggy pieces of shit tbh. Not only do the Core2s perform better at stock clock speeds, they also overclock better. 4GB of ram is nice but not necessary even with Vista, DDR3 is still useless, and that hard drive upgrade sounds better.

lol physx card? You realise there are a grand total of about 10 games that actually use it, and that using a physx card actually decreases your frame rate? And that all 8800 cards are getting a free software update that will allow the 8800 to act as a Physx card AND a graphics card? You really are a dumbass.

Ok for the record, this is high end. You are wrong. You can carry on believing what you want, but the fact of the matter is that I can run Crysis on the tweaked ULTRA HIGH, not just the standard Very High, with 4xAA, and a respectable 25-35fps. So I can run the most demanding game, a game most people dream about running on anything other than medium/high settings, on settings higher than the manufacturers intended me to play it on, with a very playable frame rate, and yet you still believe I have a standard mid-end gaming rig? What ****ing planet are you on mate? You don't have to have tri sli Ultras and 2 Intel Xeons to have a high end rig. Jesus christ. The rig you first specified is what is referred to as "Top End". e.g. A computer that pretty much has the best of everything, can max every game with high frame rates and probably wont need to be upgraded for a good 2-3 years. And even then, you shouldn't be spending anything like 3-4k. 2k MAX.

As for 4GB ram, yes, you'll see a difference in loading times but thats about it. Its not necessary, even for the resource hog that is vista, and of course you need a 64bit OS to actually use it, and 64bit still has pretty poor software and driver support.

I've shown your posts claiming that my PC is a "standerd [sic] gaming machine" to a couple of my mates and we had a good laugh. Thanks for the entertainment.

For the record, the individual components when I bought them, cost:

Q6600: £160
RAM: £50
Mobo: £110
GeForce 8800GTS: £200
Jeantech Storm 700W PSU: £80
320GB Hitachi 7200RPM SATAII HDD: £50

Not including my case, other hard drive and my dvd drive which I took from my old PC because...well...whats the point in spending money on stuff you already have that still works?

if i was getting under 50 fps on a system i was told was high end id be so pissed , in fps you need about 80+ for it to be responsive enough for reaction times and accuracy. So if i was even intending on playing cryss id deffo have to get a better system than i thought from what you just told me... sounds like the graphics card im getting is shit :S

Cant imagine games running at 25-40+ iv seen it before looks horrid :S but im used to like 60 Lowest 110 Highest on lower end games i play css

I know ur graphics would be perfect for that but i couldnt stand 40fps it would look to jagged running.

me personaly wouldnt get dual graphics card i agree it is a waste of money but that is high end gaming.... the extra 5ps you said ... but its more like 35-40fps extra because of the less work the cards have to do

and for your pc i dont need a tower and other hard drive cuz i got all that,
was saying if i wanted ur pc thats all id need. iv got the gamers case with window that cost me a frigging bomb without even a psu. then alot of psu for more accurate voltage running, (Enhances everything but you know that)

??? Wow you have stupidly high standard. Oh well, your loss. Its well known that no PC on the planet can max crysis with a high resolution and full AA. And you don't need close to 80fps for a shooter to look smooth. Back before I upgraded I was playing TF2 at around 20-30fps and had no problem owning. And even further back with my older rig, I'd play CS:S on about 30fps and again had no problems owning. You're kidding yourself if you think you need 80+ for it to run smooth. The human average human eye can't see a different between 20 and 25fps, hence why films run at 24.5fps.

And no, you wont get anything like 35-40fps increase with sli. You get a 30-40% increase on the highest resolutions, anything below 1900x1200 and you wont get more than a 5-10% performance boost over a single card.

Well I'm not gonna bother to argue with you anymore. Your stupid ignorance and elitism only hurts you because you miss out on the latest games. I on the other hand, will happily play games at a very playable 20-30fps.

Gotta agree with Mege/Diablo with the Crysis and how no computer can handle it. Even if there was one, it'll cost more than your house. Don't see whats so special about it though, it's just another FPS.

EDIT: By the way, what are we talking about? 1 minute it's the PS3, then GTA4 then some other random stuff (I'm guessing hardware stuff).

i obvusly move alot faster than you on games then... because if i spin round on tfc and css you need max fps so you can see the smallest of nades coming at you while ur spinning so u can move out of the way. with lower fps you could easily miss that.. if lower end machines (Your machine) could be as good then y there such a marketing for high end graphics cards... and why do pro players always have dual cards... water cooling and heavily clocked intel extream... like seriously waste of money isnt it ?

It is proven they play alot better on their rigs... if they played on urs and you played on theres you might see...

Basicly for the guy that asked the argument has now turned into him thinking hes got a high end gaming machine for under 600 for core bits... which is crazy thats no where near high end and the parts he has are like no where near the high end. i dont think hes even seen high end gaming by the sounds of it... when i bought my pc 2 and a bit years ago.

i didnt once think it was the high end of the gaming world even though at the time i had alot beter machines that the average joe its still only a mid range pc. these days its a very low end pc and his is a mid at the most no where near a high end...

I love for him to use benchmarking tools and compare it to certified gaming rigs... maybe you should download the tools and test them and ill try get hold of some from high end gaming and we can see the diffrence ?

Just waiting for gta4 now a nice city shot so we can see the distances and texture details and fog and clarity of xbox 360 and blu-ray with its un compressed textures. He said 360... i said ps3... his rep relies on that so hope he aint changes his mind cuz i cant wait, Because i know for certain that unless the game is DOWNSCALED on purpose for ps3 then ps3 is going to SLAUGHTER 360 with details.

The quotes he was getting were things like Games Are Identical Real quote was Games Are Fuctionally Identical but xbox fan sites miss out fuction...

Fuction means the way you play the game the way the game works. fuction has nothing to do with images textures and displays. And i know he didnt mention the look for a reason...
