Here is something I Wonderd why does everyone hate playstation 3, they say its going to fail, its going to fall, am i the only one that knows the spec and possablitys of the playstation 3 :S? or are you guys with me? the xbox 360 wont last the year out, i think this because of gta 4 having to be heavily scaled down to run on the xbox. This is because of the core xbox and developers having to make games to run on a consol with no hard drive, also another problem is the small dvd disks. gta admited they had to make the map smaller and heavily compress all the textures. so this tell me this if this is the best xbox is going to be then why do they think that it will last. the playstation is no where near its limits developers will take till mid 2008 to be able to release games to even push 50% out of it so my prediction is by end of year the games that ps3 will be able to play will leave everyone wondering y they doughted it. especialy with blu-ray taking off now sony is the winner and will dominate. Sorry to be on the attack agaist 360 but everyone is attacking ps3 and its annoying me now i cant beleive how blind people can be to the power of the ps3 (the processor will make the diffrence ) speed is everything people that say it isnt dont know about games...

If the xbox 360 had come out at the same time as the ps3, the ps3 would have betten the xbox.

the ps3 is better than the xbox 360 in so many ways but the xbox 360 has been out for longer

You are very inaccurate. Rockstar games has never spoken out about either console. Its all speculation.

who really cares which console is better i could take a 360 fanboy and sit him down for a week going over every reason that the ps3 is better and at the end of the week all he going to say is ps3 sucks. same if you took a ps3 fanboy there goin to say 360 sucks, and yes almost everyone is a fanboy. as far as developers go the make games that will make money and thats about it, myself i think mircosoft are giveing money to developers to work on games for x-box. but like i said before who cares i own a ps3 and i love it regardless what other people think of it and thats all i need to know

I have to agree with Kaos. No matter how long you explain the specs either a PS3, 360 or a Wii fanboy, they're just gonna say that they hate the other consoles.

Do me a favour and quote "Xbox 360 gta 4 Limited" in google you will see that lots of sites have quoted the vice president of rockstar about what i said... i dont just go on rumours i find out the truth

the basic understanding is that games need the cache to store lots of data. this would mean that there would need to be a large memory device present for the fast storage and release of this data. The larger the storage of cache that can be used the large things like maps and amount of diffrent textures u can have. With the xbox this all as to be stored on disk and on RAM with the playstation its standard hardrive so is stored there.

Im not saying that the playstation 3 is going to be easy, the cores are hard to figure out right now because they havnt really had the playstation dev kit all the way though to work with but by what he said, Xbox version will have to be smaller maps and less textures because all data has to be stored on disk. where as ps3 can store vast amouts of data on blu-ray disk and store lots of data in cache

I use to be a massive ps fan. But after getting a 360 as well, iv gone over to the other side and always play my 360 and hardly play my ps3. Now i still like the ps3 but the reason i dont use it anymore are: 1. Most multiconsole games look better on 360. 2. Games are cheaper on 360. 3. 360 has a much better online community/system.

Sony need to put up or shut up this year. This is the year they need to show me and alot of other people that all this money we have put on this console is gonna pay off.

yeah thats normal i expect like 50/50 to prefure games on other consol but for pure hatred of another consol you need some grounds. ps3 is better but xbox 360 been out for longer we saw this with xbox and ps2. but the diffrence was tiny then and the arguments were smaller then they are now.

ps3 deffo have the raw power and the imagination of the next year to take ps3 to about 50% usage which is unheard of, but games were more fun on the sega megadrive to be honest than whats out for both consols at the moment

why are you so defensive of the ps3 its a friggen game system not your religeon or something i'll admit the ps3 is cool and all but its a loyalty issue and good old billy gates is the man

Yeah i dont get this crap about the ps3 is better. Its not, It has the protential to be a better console but at the moment it isnt. 360 console cost less, Games are cheaper on 360, Mulitconsole game look better on 360. PS3 always talks about HDMI but it cant even give us those Green/Blue cables as standard like the 360 does. And know im not a fan boy. I like all consoles. Im just stanting facts. PS3 has the potental and all the ablilty to be the best buts its not yet.

i couldn't agree more with rampage. I have owned all 3(wii, 360, ps3), and at the moment the 360 is the better of the 2. I say 2 because the wii is a whole different kind of console, so it doesn't really compare to the other 2, which are extremely similar. About 4 months ago my house got robbed and my 360 and wii were stolen, if it weren't for that tragic event, the 360 would probably still be getting the majority of my game time.

oh ya, and as for those who it seems get almost offended by fanboys, who cares. the way i see it, if one wants to claim loyalty strictly to one system or game for whatever reason, let them. Ultimately they lose out because do to their stubborn ways, they will end up missing out on plenty of great titles compared to those who don't care and will simply play whatever is appealing to them regardless of what platform it is released for.

Get your facts right. Both the 360 and the PS3 version of GTA4 are identical, and rockstar has confirmed this repeatedly. The only difference between the 2 is that the 360 version has extra downloadable content, and the PS3 version doesn't. Thats it. Other than that, the graphics, the size of the game, the length of the game. Its all the same.

Congratulations on neglecting to metion that R* said they had just as much trouble getting GTA4 to work well on the PS3 as they did 360.

Neither is the 360. Just look at PS2. It had the shittiest hardware of all the consoles last gen. It was the weakest and the hardest to program for, and yet game like God of War 2 rivaled the graphics of the much, much more powerful Xbox. Same shit with 360. The processor wont make much difference and I have no idea why you think it will. The bottom line is that PS3 has far too many bottlenecks, the biggest being the lack of RAM and the p.o.s. graphics card. But even if it was kitted out with a Core 2 Extreme, 4GBs of RAM and and dual 8800 Ultras, it still wouldn't mean shit. The best hardware does not equal success, the Wii is proof of this because right now it has Sony and Microsoft crapping their pants, and if current sales rates continue, which they will, it will outsell the PS2. Processing power means nothing if you can't back it up with good games, and the the 360 still has a better library than PS3.
