Some solutions iv heard are that you should do a restore to default after every firmware update, that is the only one iv heard

This problem seems to be with the release day ps3's and the ones made recently . it seems to be sonys version of the ring of death.

If you have this problem demand a new ps3 because they might try and give u a re-manufactured ps3 (PS3 Rebuilt).

you know what i did when my PS3 couldn't read a disc. i ejected it...cleaned off the 37 smudges and prints and fuzz and re-inserted it. HEY, look at that. it worked. as did every other disc.
