Ok, here is the story, i got my PS3 Thanksgiving '07, not too long ago.

the first few months, it was working fine, nice no problem, until when it started to do this:

i put in a game, it didnt show up on the game section, it acted as though i didnt put the game in. i took it out and started cleaning the CD, and it worked, but it kept doing again and again, and it got worse. so i used a dust-off thing (you know, like air comes out to dust things like keyboards, etc.) i dusted the inside where the CD goes in. it works, but i think that ruined it.

then:

my games started freezing the week or 2 after i started dusting it. they just froze in, at first i thought that game had gone bad, but then i checked all my games and it happend on them too. now all my games just froze froze froze.

and i am like
"DAMN"

so i dont know the warranty on the PS3 but i have only had it 3-5 months and i think - i hope - that the warranty is one year,

so, is my PS3 dead? or what? please tell me

Well, I suggest calling Sony. When you call them just tell them what is wrong. Although, if i was you, I wouldn't tell them about

yeah, definitely don't tell them you were trying to do anything...just tell them what it is doing, and what it progressed from...no more details than you need to give out.

my bros screwed up like that freezing sony said to send his ps3 with his box n got a new one back from um a couple weeks later said they were pretty good to him !

Well, if you bought it from a big store, (i.e. Best Buy, Gamestop,) I,m sure you could take it to them and exchange it. Especially if you have any type of other warranty on it. If not, then just call sony. You'll have to wait for them to pick it up. Look at it. Send you a new one. But you will probably get a new one. Patience is Virtue. haha. Hope all goes well.

it does come with a ne year warranty but this is the stupid part make sure u still hav ur reciept cuzda same happened to me but if u dont got da reciept u gotta pay $150 bucks

finally got the time to call now, just going to get pen and paper and make the call, wish me luck
