Sony beat the competition and created the PS2. And the 6th generation wars started. Microsoft jumped in creating the Xbox, And Nintendo created the gamecube. But Sony Still Came Through.. and Now we're in the present, The 360's early start of the 7gen wars gave them the advantage. More of a game selection, A diversed online community, and because of it, more sony lovers turned to the 360. But the ps3 i have to say is superior in what it will do, appossed to the 360 being superior in what it can do. if history has taught us anything, it's that sony always wins.

Im with you on that one

Indeed Sony does always win. But it has been comparatively easier in the previous two Generations than this one. I have no doubt it will win, but it's had a trek to climb so far and will do for the next three years. Don’t forget, hardly any of you are classing the Wii here as the prime competitor, the system that is selling the best overall (Because people are cheap and will accept any shit thing that keeps the kids happy).I would recommend the Playstation 3 entertainment system over the rivals that Microsoft and Nintendo have put out there because it is simply the best (If anyone makes a joke about this comment and Tina Turner....lol). Seriously though, it is designed and made to better specifications than its rival games consoles. So what if it requires a little more cash to buy it? It truly is worth it, and the price is ever dropping. Home which has been pointed out by various other people replying to this, is a very good reason for investing in a Ps3,it's much better than Nintendo's Mii's and their respective applications on the Wii. Blu Ray is a brilliant reason for owning a Playstation 3, now that HD DVD is dead the Film Studios will drive Blu Ray marketing full steam so it will replace DVD by 2010 as the primary entertainment format for Film and TV based media, Disney as some of you may have noticed are currently doing that, as well as countless Film Directors and publishers of Film/TV. The games during 2007 were admittedly stacked in the odds of Nintendo and Microsoft, but this year, much is different. Grand Theft Auto IV is on both Platforms, as is Devil May Cy IV, Prototype, Fallout 3 and Race Driver GRID etc and as far as exclusives go 2008 sees Metal Gear Solid 4,Killzone2,Resistance2,HAZE,Little Big Planet, Final Fantasy XIII, The Agency and Motostorm2 etc. Looking toward 2009 we see God Of War III, Final Fantasy versus XIII and Heavy rain right now, so there is no way that by the end of 2009,you will be able to say that Xbox 360 has any advantage over the Playstation 3.Then of course there is the FREE online service with the BUILT IN WIRELESS ADAPTER, true enough it has yet have as big an installed user base as the Xbox Live service, but in time it will have a very large userbase, because over time the Playstation 3 will emerge as the "Consumer’s choice for Videogame Entertainment System" That is quote, from who escapes me at the current moment. One thing I think that has been left out is the Playstation Portable connectivity. True enough the Playstation 3 can connect with many device, at time with up to eight at once (If you have the USB multi ports), but it is with the Handheld that Sony markets that it has its most intuitive connections. With a PSP you can access you Playstation 3 from anywhere in the world and view your HDD and watch programmes that you would have saved to the Playstation 3 using PlayTV. You can also Utilize Remote Play as shown with Lair on the Playstation 3.Plus the newest Models of the PSP (Slimline) you have the connections to the TV, so you can play your PSP on your TV screen.

Overall, I’m just sounding the opinions of what a majority of people have already suggested, with a few previously unmentioned thrown in. In conclusion it is a flawless decision to buy a Playstation 3 over an Xbox 360, for all the reasons pointed out in my post here, and more. Any Wii owners looking to get a proper Games console as well as their more casual Nintendo one should look to Sony's Playstation now as well.

i agree with everything you have said. but The Wii is mostly aimed at competing with the 6th generation... thats all it's good for. sales wise, it may win/ come in second, but in every other aspect, it will fail. Graphics dont even really compare to the rest of the G7 competition..also, as you have mentioned, people will go for anything that will hurt the wallet the least... thats why sales go Wii, 360, ps3... but with the ps3 is lowering costs, coupled with 2009, it will rise above and kick the shit out of the Xbox
