Ps3 on a 768p TV?

1. 1080p vs 720p games: how much better do 1080p game on a 1080p screen look, opposed to a 720p game on a 768p screen? Is it worth buying PS3 for gaming on a 786p LCD TV?

2. In the future, will PS3 games come out only in 1080p, or 720p too?

1. Its insanely better, get the HD set-up if budget allows. 720 isnt giving you 100% of what the game can be.

2. Not sure.

1: 1080 is of course alot better. Those numbers are not just there to look cool. It's all got to do with picture quality and ratio. If your budget allows, go for 1080i, or 1080p. You would be amazed at the difference.

2: I hope in the future it would only be the best.

FYI, there is no such thing as "768p"; it is 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.

Anyway the picture quality on a 720p HDTV compared to a 1080p HDTV is not all that different. You can probably see the difference side by side; though if you take a 720p HDTV by itself and play games on it it'll be just fine, IMO. Also keep in mind that a lot of the PS3 games are going to be 720p natively upscaled to 1080p.

If you want a 1080p HDTV, get one that is atleast 40". You will see some 32-36" HDTVs that have 1080p, though you cannot see a difference at all in the PQ (picture quality).

i have a 32" widescreen that runs at 720p and you cant notice the difference between it and a larger tv running at 1080p the size of the tv matters when looking at 720p and 1080p if your going for a tv smaller then 40" then forget 1080p look for refresh rates and contrast ratio instead

Not all that much different. Resolution makes a minimal impact on picture quality. Things like contrast ratio and brightness are more important.
