SCTV Improperly Displaying (Some) Games

Hello, I've been having an issue with my PS3 improperly displaying resolutions. I own a Samsung 26'' Flat Panel SDTV, and it's fairly new. My TV works very well with most games, only, I own two games that display improperly.

Folklore and Ninja Gaiden Sigma both seem to think my TV is a 16:9, and display as such, however, since the television is 4:3, the image gets scrunched in side-to-side. All my settings seem to be set up right as far as the PS3 goes, and I am using Component Cables. And my television, as far as I can tell, has no display resolution options.

I've tried all I can, and Sony Tech Support just told me to reformat my machine, which did nothing. Anyone else have problems like this? I've looked high and low, but it seems that I may be the only one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have similar things but with an HDTV. Its 720p and 1080i, but if I try to use 1080i it puts everything into 576p. So I have to use 720p all the time. Worked fine till I played it on an SDTV.

Wait wait wait. It worked properly on the HDTV until you hooked it up to an SDTV? That's kind of spooky.
