So basically if I get a RROD on this 360, I will seriously consider switching to the PS3.

Only problem is I have around 5 or 6 360 games and dont know what i would do with them if I did eventually switch, as EB are useless for trade in prices.

So basically, what would you do in this situation?

Its a tuff choice mate.Once you get the RRod death it kinda puts you the 360 for good in my opinion(i had them myself about 7 months ago!!!)
I then went and got myself a 60gig ps3 and im well happy with it.
personally i would say get a ps3,u wont forget it.

I would say get a Playstation 3 regardless,it is a much better console.But if your Xbox 360 is a recent one then there's a fairly good chance that the RRoD won't occur as easily as you think.The failure rate of an Xbox 360 Entertainment system however still stands between 10%-33% so I have read though,even the elite couldn't limit it down.

Playstation 3's will be the winning console of the Seventh Generation by 2012 for sure,and many devs are currently turning to the Playstation 3 for their games now.

Like obi1unome said (I think he tried to anyway),getting a Playstation 3 is not a decission you are ever likely to regret.

I actually owned both systems for awhile, got the RROD but Microsoft was suprisingly helpful with the situation. It only took like 3 weeks to get a new one back. But I also know people who have had to send back several systems because they keep getting them. To sell you 360 stuff I would try Ebay, Facebook Marketplace (if you have facebook), or put an ad in your local paper or something. Generally youll get more cash than going to Gamestop

Red Ring Of Death - basically a huge failure within the 360s hardware. Where up to 33% of Xbox users experience this, less than 5% of PS3 owners have experienced similar problems with their systems. Just be grateful you dont have to experience it because its a pain to deal with

Xbox 360's are a pain to deal with...

You can't sneak in a midnight game because it makes more noise thaan a world war bombing siren...

Yeah, I hate the Xbox controllers too. Im so glad Sony kept the same design since PS1.

PS3 is a way better console in my opinion. With games like SOCOM, Resistence 2, Motorstorm 2, LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, MGO, Bionic Commando, etc. this year, you will regret not owning one!!

I say sell the 360 games, and buy a PS3, for you also will get HOME and a cheap blu-ray player. (Not to mention free online and wifi built in)

Yea. The PS3 is the way to go now. Price is down (though if you do the math it was never too high), no question on the new HD format + blueray games allow devs to put more on one disc, lots of good games coming soon, and IMO a better online service.

Definetly switch to PS3... XBOX is a great system, with great games... But Microsoft is becoming a very lazy company. I've also heard rumors of the 360 being Microsoft's last console. Last, the PS3 has a life expectancy of 7-10 years. I'd get the PS3.... And don't forget... Free online...
