GTA IV and Ridiculous Customer Service
I am fairly new to this forum but I appreciate any help anyone can offer. I am experiencing the dreaded problems with GTA IV and the PS3. I have a 40gb system with the newest software (2.35). I was playing the game and the screen went black. Now my ps3 will not play any other games or movies. I have tried some of the fixes floating around the internet with no success. I called sony support and rockstar support multiple times but it's like talking to a brick wall. The sony cs rep dismissed the gta iv issue as a "small problem" and that they receive "a limited number of calls about this issue." That is very hard to believe considering the amount of consideration the problem is getting on every message board. I am now in the process of sending my system back for service (a painfully slow process, I'm sure). It seems to me that with a problem this big caused by a game of this popularity, that Sony and/or Rockstar would have some sensible solution. Has anyone experienced these same issues? If so, is there an easier fixed or am I doomed to hours of lifeless communication with customer service reps?
