Is It Too Late for Me?
I have had my 360 for 10 months and absolutely babied it, plenty of ventilation, and still got the RRoD yesterday. I am very upset. After hearing stories of people on their fifth or sixth 360's, I don't want to risk this happening again. I am looking at cutting my losses and going to the PS3. My game library consists of:
GRAW 1 and 2
COD 2-4
GTA IV
Assassin's Creed
My questions are as follows:
1. Is the PS3 more reliable than the 360? I have read that Assassin's Creed
(Which I play a LOT) and GTA IV are 360 killers. Can the PS3 handle these games for hours at a time without problems?
2. Do you guys think I have gone too far down the 360 river to turn around and get a PS3 now?
The PS3 seems poised to win the console war, and with MGS4 and Blu-Ray, it
doesn't make sense to me to go through the RRoD hassle again and again.
Thank you for your time.

I can't vouch for AC, but GTA 4 I played for over 3 hours straight on opening day and it froze once, in the first 15 minutes. BUT, after some research I saw that tons of people experienced this on both consoles, and for the record, I shut off the console, restarted it and the game worked fine except for a couple of random freezes here and there, about 3 in all which is more than any other game, but at the same time is nothing major since there's no damage to the disc or the console.
Your second question, regarding whether or not you've already gone too far with 360 can honestly only be answered by you. How much money do you have that you can spend on Videogaming. If it's a major hobby, then it would obviously be worthwhile to get what you believe is the better console.

The playstation 3 is a more reliable system. It's plus' are as follows:
Blu ray
Free online
An internet Explorer
The Cell engine (most advanced piece of computing technology in the last 50 years, and still yet to be matched on the open market)
Home (eventually)
And the following games [exclusive]:
Resistance Fall of Man (40 player online, means it's still the biggest game beside MMO's)
Motorstorm
Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction
Unreal Tournament III (fair enough,it's on the PC,but as far as consoles go,PS3 is the way to go with this shooter)
Uncharted Drake's Fortune (you've seen films like Indianna Jones and The Mummy? Now live the experiences)
The eye of Judgment (it's finally coming down in price and is worth the money now)
Folklore (a great game, with a very original twist)
Heavenly Sword (Kind of short, but a very good game,it's nickname is Goddess of War for a reason)
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (only a demo,but a F***ing good one)
Singstar
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Warhawk
[coming]
Killzone 2
God of War III
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy versus XIII
Afrika
Heavenly Sword 2
New team ICO project (bound to be amazing)
Little Big Planet
inFamous
Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of Patriots
HAZE
Motostorm 2
Resistance 2
Heavy Rain
WarDevil: UNleash the beast Within
Iron and the Maiden
WipEout HD
The Getaway 3
Eight Days
The protector
LA Noire
Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier
White Knight Chronicles
SOCOM Confrontation
Tekken 6
The Agency
{both on PS3&360}
Devil May Cry 4
Call of Duty 4
Assassin's Creed
Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock
Grand Theft Auto IV (which you can buy in a bundle along with your PS3)
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion:Game of the year Edition
Burnout Paradise
Lost Planet Extreme Condition
Enchated Arms
FIFA 08
PES 2008
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
The orange box
Colin McRae dIrt
Virtua Fighter 5
WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2008
Overlord (but way better on PS3)
and many more
{coming}
Resident Evil 5
Prototype
They
Alone in the dark 5
Silent Hill 5
Soul Calibur IV (but way better on PS3 cause of a heavy Breathing someone)
Street Fighter IV
Lego Batman
Lego Indianna Jones
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Afro Samurai
Call of Duty 5
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Brutal Legend
Dragonball Z Burst Limit
Fallout 3
Ghostbusters
and many more
So there's really no reason to think that 360 is better than a PS3.I had my 36o for an entire year before I got my PS3,and since,I've played my 360 once or twice. My PS3 is better and played more.
Hope I helped,
Jedidiah Rose.

I've had my PS3 for about 3-4 months which is a short time, but I've had absolutely NO problems with it. Warhawk is AMAZING, and the PS3 has WAY better exclusives in my opinion.
I say sell your 360, and go PS3. (You also get a cheap blu-ray player, HOME, and free online.)

Answer: you can contact microsoft, ask for a box, takes about 2 weeks to get to you, they fix your system, if it happens 5 times, you get an Elete console. I know Xbx owners who still have launch date systems that are fine... But thats a couple; most are already at the required meltdowns for the upgraded system. The basic 360 sucks. It will overheat if you dont modd itt[I can tell you how, but it voids warranty] The PS3 will not overheat at all, it will run quieter, and it will perform better at trible the conditions the xbox will cruble under. You dont need to worry about ventilation unless your an idiot, its scary how hot it gets without any fps distortion. The games are better and look better. Regarding the fact to move to PS3, Yes, but dont trade in your xbox, send it in to microsoft, get it fixed, and save up for a Ps3, you wont get shit for selling it, a little shit, but... your better off just keeping it.

Ive had a 360 since day 1.
I say had a 360, not my360 as I had been through 3 different ones so far.
The first one broke within 3 days (CD drive game up).
2nd one a few months later on the release of Oblivion (died within 2 mins of playing....I could have cried).
Last time was 3 months ago.
On all 3 occasions I had to lose all my save games even though they said it would be retained.
Had my PS3 now for about 2 weeks, not a single solitary issue of any kind yet.
Much prefer it to my 360 in general as well
