I've got the new firmware update and, right now, i dont think much of it... it only has ONE game the the firmware supports for tyhe new trophy system, which will eventually turn out to be great.

I think the the XMB in game is awesome, and the new music player is great... but maybe a little late??

Your thoughts here...

Whats the whole trophy system about? How do you get them and what are they for??

^^^^Trophies are just like achievements. Unfortunately, Trophies are only allowed now that the new firmware is out. That doesn't mean Trophies are created yet. Barely any games have them, lots of the current games probably won't even get them since the developers don't care that much about it. In fact, some new releases such as Resistance 2 and Little Big Planet may not even have Trophies since they're so deep into development already.

I know Bioshock for Ps3 is gonna have trophies, but no idea when that's coming out.

I'm sure resistance 2 will support trophies. Such a feature can be added anytime during a games development.

^^^^Well I actually I guess it depends how easy or difficult it is to implement trophy support. Making trophies, like 20 Kills, 10 Headshots in a Row, etc., are easy, but for all we know it may take some time to actually put them into software.

Thats what i was thinking for most games, especially the ones that are already out and about in stores, it must be hard to get all the Update Data, and the trophy system into a game.

One thing that i am dissapointed about is that COD4 isnt supporting trophies.

Well in my opinion it helps me alot as i send alot of messages, but i dont think they need Trophies. But i still havent found a game that i ca play music on. So all they really needed was the n game XMB no need for Trophies or Non Workig in game music.

^^^I don't think any games have music support yet unless it was pre-installed in the game.

I don't really need it except for GTA 4 sooo badly.

Let's see. The new update at our PS3 is good,better than average. They brought us a Trophy Collection for nothing. The in game XMB is very useful and the basic think is that we can't hear music while we are playing. I hope that they will improve that in the future.

I just hope people that use headsets dont play music while playing. I hate when people do that on COD. Whats the point of communicating with other players when your stupid music is drowning everything out??

^^^Yeah, I turn my mic off if my computer is playing music, and I mute people when they are.

Burnout Paradise supports music to be played through XMB, i think.

After 2.40 I'm going to wait a day or two before DL future firmware updates. There is no way that an update should brick consoles. Sony needs to really test them before putting updates out. 2.41 on the other hand is great. No major issues an in game XMB is great.

The 2.40 update does not support music at all my games. Those games are Heavenly Sword.GTA IV,MGS4,CoD ,NBA 2K7 and PES 2008.
